I had zero sleep again last night. Luckily I had work to do. Luckily. But my husband and Baby O are literally the only people I’ve met who sleep like babies. When baba O was actually a baby she would have to be woken up for feeds. Now it’s me who has to be woken mid conversation around 16:00!!

Anyone else share my problem?

Currently Turkey and Florida and Spain are flying off the shelves! Where will you choose? And good to see people cashing in their vouchers! We aren’t just pretty faces here! Mostly sleepy ones!

I had no sleep last night. Sorry. I had 29 mins sleep. So I’m a very tired and grumpy little small today.

The best sleep of my whole life was a hotel by Manchester Airport right before we went to Cuba. And I was so sick when we got to Cuba? I have never wanted it be back in my comfy hotel from before so much.

Now I do swear by the sea for a good nights sleep but this hotel. I just didn’t want to go in holiday even. The beds were that good!

Where’s been your favourite place get s good nights sleep or even just a thoroughly sound nap?

Yep. This has been a week of this. They are just ricocheting around my head like a distorted game of Pong.

I need to go somewhere new. Somewhere else to have my problems. Somewhere different to meet people to talk to and eat new food. I need NEW.

I bought a new car last year hoping it would scratch this itch but apart from being gorgeous to drive, I just want to be somewhere else for a little while.

Who’s with me on this? We ride at dawn.

A lot of people want to know why we are called Ohana Travel.

The reasons are many. Firstly we love Disney, Secondly I love The Rock but thirdly and most importantly, it’s Hawaiian for family. Not just blood family, but extended family, or important social groups.

When I came up with the name, I was fed up with the totally impersonal service I had received from our Travel Agents, one time involving 10 hours on the phone and I wanted us to be different. To treat our customers like we would a friend or member of our family. In other words, going that extra mile.

We pride ourselves in doing that. Holidays are hard earned, especially these days and it’s our personal mantra that ALL of your holiday should be enjoyable. From the booking, to the return.

So it’s not really a weird name at all. It’s us. And how we treat ALL our clients.

This sounds like pure luxury to me round about now. How about you? And where would you take your road trip to?

I have to say I love my drive up to Edinburgh (and exclaiming how big Cumbria is!) but I think my ideal road trip would be down the east cost of Australia. I don’t know why but right now I just think it would be good for my soul.

Name two things that are wonderful about this photo?

1. It’s Duke, one of Kelpies in beautiful Scotland. Near Falkirk if you’re interested. Always worth a visit. They are magical.

2. It’s a horse. To celebrate the hard working horses of world.

So we’ve discovered from this I love Scotland. And Horses.

There is a reason for this post. Have you ever been guilty of anything like this? Keeping an adult loved one occupied so you can do something you want to do?

Yesterday this backfired on me. I really needed a nap. Husband wanted to watch La Palma on tv. Perfect solution to the perfect problem.

However I woke up early and now we aren’t ever going to Tenerife on holiday.

Choose your distractions wisely!

Something very important I’ve discovered. It was my first school run of 2025 today. I actually become a hippopotamus on the school run and I think this is a ground breaking scientific discovery. I also think it means I need a holiday. 2 days in to school running. Is this a personal best? Or a personal worst?

Also school run me and Ohana me are two entirely different people. We wouldn’t even have hot chocolate together I dare say. Unless it was in Mauritius maybe. Or at least at an airport.

My brothers, I’m the youngest of four and the only girl, have inferred lately that im rather boring because I tend to stick to what I like.

This has all come about because I like my favourite films to watch. The other night it was Tomorrow Never Dies followed by The Untouchables. I was happy as the proverbial pig!

But am I the same with holidays? Are you? Would you rather go somewhere you know you love rather than risking somewhere completely new? (To be fair I love the Maldives but when we went last year it was……less impressive, to the point I will likely never return.)

I love Edinburgh and will always return there, and I love Norfolk but haven’t returned for too long. But Florida and the Caribbean, I am always happy there.

So this year we are going to try something new. I’ve got my eye on Fiji again. The family want Japan or Thailand.

Where are your holiday plans this year? Are you staying safe or are you going to live dangerously and try somewhere new?

Rest assured, wherever you decide, we will never let you go somewhere like we did in the Maldives. (It did have great food and a stunning spa to be fair,) so if you know where you want to go or want to hand it over for someone else to find you your NEW dream destination, Ohana has it all just for you! We all know someone like this. Our resident pilot is just waiting tor his chance to step in. I’d love to name and shame him but he’s been a little poorly bless him however we know!

Conversely, Mr O IS a qualified pilot! But he can’t ever make this kind offer though, as he’s too busy looking after me! and explaining the very important magic.

Who is the resident pilot in your travel group, you know the one who has been has played just a bit too much flight sim and is ready to jump in with moments notice? The aviation world would be lost with them I’m sure!

I don’t think there is any chance of me flying a plane so that answers that question. And why we always DRIVE to Edinburgh!

This comes back to haunt me like the time I accidentally called my teacher, “mum.”

As you all will know by now, I love Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 yet weirdly I have never seen so much as a cats whisker there. Owls yes. Cats. None.

Also I’m afraid I am having to bet on the cats here. Yes I love cats. I have seven. Or rather they own me. Now these cats could take me down. I wouldn’t stand a chance against 114 and I don’t think the average Scot would either.

Well that’s 2024 out of the way. It was rather a dramatic end for us but we prevailed and we are looking forward a dynamic 2025 with lots of new holidays, breaks and all round good times ahead.

As usual, what you want is what makes us tick. So if it’s a weekend overlooking the glorious village of Tobermory, a few days of zooming around the deserts of Dubai in a Ferrari or hiring your own private jet to do a spot of island hopping in the South Pacific, we have all of that and more at our fingertips!
