Finally on our weekend to explore the Edinburgh Christmas Market and let you know if it’s still one of the best in Europe!

Today I am feeling like a prehistoric worm.

We haven’t had a summer to speak of and it looks like we are tumbling head long into winter. Although yesterday was a beautiful autumnal day and it was a joy to see!

This one was the best of the lot if you ask me!

I’m looking forward to a little time warp this weekend. We are going to check out the Edinburgh Christmas Market so will be letting you know if it’s worth the visit compared with other Christmas Markets in the UK

I think Edinburgh has the upper hand on most UK markets just because it’s so beautiful and historical. Sure Oxford Street is ok for shopping but it lacks that olde timey feel that Edinburgh has in abudance!

Everyone likes an exotic holiday but don’t forget, we can find you the perfect break anywhere in the UK too! After all, it is a beautiful country!

And yet there always seems to be one wherever I go away to!!

I think our worst was in Barbados when some English chap was just so completely drunk and racist, I even went back to my room to get a break! It wasn’t Mr O btw! Even his mild easy going self was offended by this guy.

What’s been your worst experience with other guests whilst you’re away? How did you deal with it? I still think a nap solves everything and it did that day. He got kicked out the hotel by the time I woke up and later the island. Wowsers.

Bit of a quiet week here so apologies. We will be back in abundance next week but don’t forget the website is updated by my good self every day so if it’s a Christmas break you want or a trip to the tropics, step into my office!

Funnily enough I always decided where I wanted to go on holiday when I was drunk. Always. Then I gave up alcohol so I don’t have the pros and cons from both states of mind!

But I am looking forward to Edinburgh and I can’t believe that was never an option drunk or sober before.

So. What’s your favourite food? I have to say when we went to Florida, there were all sorts of cuisines to choose from and I managed to eat an awful lot but didn’t put on any weight. Weird.

But this explains it all. Holidays calories officially do not count! I can’t believe I had to get to this age before finding this out.

Is anyone else ridiculously extra tired despite getting an extra hour of sleep?

I mean I have little ones but they sleep more than me so I can’t even blame them!

Anyhow. This is how I feel when I have a holiday booked. Yes it might not buy me happiness (usually does btw!) but it gives life that better quality if misery and I’m here for it.

Do yourself a favour today. Right now. Improve the quality of the misery in your life and book a holiday. I guarantee it will work!!

It’s certainly been one of these weeks. It’s really has.

Admittedly my trip to Edinburgh won’t involve lying on a beach with the sun on my face but I am so in need of this break it’s untrue.

Have you reached this point yet or is it just in the post?

All I know is right now it’s been a long long year and I just need a little break to look forward to. I think we all need that in life. Your life can be super amazing but having a little treat to look forward to is always an added boost!

What a horrible Wednesday it has been so far.

The holidays are glistening and in case I haven’t mentioned it enough, we are off to Auld Leekie in less than a month but today is a meh day. I feel spiritually injured by my apathy.

Which got me thinking. What’s the worst holiday injury you’ve ever had? I did have a splinter in my heel once that felt like a broken ankle for some reason but here is mine. Falling asleep in the sun for 30 mins in the Maldives. They were going to fly me to the mainland for treatment. Er no. No I’ll just hide under a towel!

So what’s your worst holiday injury? Photos not necessarily required!!!

Or choosing where to go on holiday!!!

Personally when I’m speaking to someone attractive like Mr Ohana, my brain doesn’t stop functioning. And I don’t shut up.

I can tell you when my brain did completely fail to launch though.

When it came to where we would get married. All these beautiful locations and could we choose? Luckily the ideal place fell in our lap and we spent the best wedding in Antigua.

Do you go back to where you love on holiday like a creature of comfort? I know I’m quite guilty of that. Because if I have to think about all the other amazing places this beautiful world has to offer for us as a family, brain fails to engage. Again. We have said we are going to try going further east for our next holiday though. Even though there’s too many places we love!!!

If you have brain block when it comes to booking holidays, we are happy to chat holidays all day. Literally all day, so if we don’t find you one that very day, we can sew some ideas in your head and work together to find you your new favourite place. This is why I make so many new and lovely friends on holiday.

It’s a different vibe on holiday though isn’t it? On my first sober holiday(by choice, just decided to give up one day and never went back,) I had the best time staying up til 2am, dancing as much as my back would allow and try getting me off that karaoke! No chance. But 5 years ago that would have been my worst nightmare. I’d be home in bed by 10.30 feeling a bit sick!!

Now I love it, I meet lovely new friends because obv you don’t stay in on your holidays do you?

So whilst I might not be the most social person back home these days, I love going out to play on my holidays and meeting new people. It’s probably my favourite part!

And this is exactly why I stopped taking my main holiday in summer! It’s true. It’s completely ingrained in us that this is your holiday time and you WILL enjoy it! It’s too much pressure! Think back to your very best holiday ever. Where and when was it? I think mine has to be Antigua with the family when I got married which was late Sept, early Oct. Or Edinburgh in November. Perfection! I guess at the end of the day, holidays should be going somewhere with someone you want to be with and it doesn’t actually matter when you go but we are here to make sure you don’t accidentally go to Mauritius in wet season, (to be honest it wasn’t bad!) or be out in the Maldives in a monsoon, which is less fun! Your holiday, Your rules. And let’s forget about what’s been ingrained in us for so long!
