The perfect spot for a sunny afternoon… English wine and local charcuterie and cheese platter at Woodchurch Wine Estate This was followed by a walk round the vineyard following the self guided tour and all only a few miles from our holiday cottages.

A little trip to Scotney Castle today. The gardens always look good. The daffodils are beginning to go over now but the azaleas are looking good and the rhododendrons will soon be out too.

A short break with the girls or group of friends? All the bedrooms at The Salty Dog can be made with either two single beds or one superking/ king bed and every bedroom has its own private bath or shower room.

A sunny beach walk - such a joy.

Camber Sands beach is dog friendly all year round (although a section is dog free in summer) and only a few minutes walk from our holiday cottages.

Coffee at Lime Kiln Cafe in the visitors centre at Rye Harbour is always welcome… and what a view. Today we watched seals in the river whilst warming up on our walk.

Feeling both relaxed and invigorated (if that’s possible) after morning yoga at The Gallivant just a few minutes walk from our cottages at Camber Sands. I do yoga regularly, as many of you may know, but this is my first time at The Gallivant studio. It’s a lovely welcoming space, easy to book online and excellent instruction. If you fancy a yoga break with friends then combining this with a stay at The Salty Dog or Rock Lobster gives you just that.

Are you looking for a place by the sea where you can relax and unwind?

Let’s Unwind is run by me, Carol, with help from my husband Pete. Our self-catering holiday homes are owned by us, managed by us and, when not filled with guests, thoroughly enjoyed by us.

As seasoned (and critical) veterans of many a self-catering holiday we have a fair idea of what makes a self-catering holiday that bit more special, relaxing and stress-free. We have held a VisitEngland Gold Award since we started in 2007 and this year we have been awarded a coveted Rose Award for outstanding customer service and going that extra mile to make our guests’ stays extra special.

Families with babies and small children will find pretty much everything taken care of – all that bulky baby kit can stay at home so there’ll be more room in the car for the things you really want to bring!
