As our riders wave goodbye to the mountains, villages, and deserts of Morocco, we wanted to share a few photos from their journey. If you haven’t been following Tim and Geoff’s posts on the riders’ group, it’s well worth delving back into them. They’ve captured so vividly the experience of travelling through Africa on two wheels – the sights, the smells, the warmth of the locals, the otherworldly landscapes, and the incredible roads.

We’ll be running this route again later this year, and now’s the time to call us if you want in on the ride! Full details can be found using the link below.

What are the chances! Tucked away in a corner of Spain, Ken and Ian have been enjoying their Self-Guided Grand Tour, probably not expecting to bump into anyone they knew. But out of nowhere, who should appear but Tim, Geoff, and Pete, fresh from our Morocco tour and on their way home. Somehow, their paths crossed – and this great photo landed in our inbox this morning. We love seeing the Magellan family connect out on the road!

North America’s scale is staggering. Vast national parks stretch beyond the horizon, teeming with wildlife. Mountain passes twist and tumble through forests, deserts, and high alpine plateaus – it’s pure cinema.

This year, we’ve lined up our Alaska, Canada, and Pacific Northwest adventures back-to-back. As a thank you for your continued support of our America tours, we’re now offering £1,000 off if you join us for two tours – or £2,000 if you take on all three! You’ll find full details linked in the comments, or give us a call to talk it through.

More photos coming in from our group out in Africa! Sometimes we can’t quite believe the landscapes we ride through – and it’s got us thinking. What’s the wildest landscape you’ve ever ridden to?

Answers from the office include: the Picos de Europa in Spain, Geirangerfjord in Norway, Torres del Paine in Patagonia, and La Gomera in the Canary Islands.

What would your answer be? Let us know below!

It’s been fantastic this week to see our photo books out in the world! These were a true labour of love from Naomi and the rest of the team to put together and get to you. Seeing everyone relive their memories from the road, and then call us to chat through new ideas and where to go next, is so rewarding.

So thank you, from all of us here at Magellan HQ, for the love you show us and the memories we share year after year. Here’s to the 2025 summer season, just around the corner!

We loved reading your hypotheticals last week, so it’s time for another! This one has caused much debate over lunch at Magellan HQ – and we’re still changing our answers every time someone asks.

Your best mate has just told you they’re getting their bike licence and want to go on their first tour. They’ve asked for advice on a first bike, a route, and one thing to pack that they might not have thought of. So where are you sending them? On what? And with what?

Oh, to be in Africa!

These past two weeks, we’ve had our eyes glued to the updates coming in from Tim Stevenson, Geoff Winwood and co. Over in our riders’ group, they’ve been painting an incredible picture with their words and photos. If you’re looking to get a feel for our tours, this is a brilliant insight. Here’s a snapshot from Day 8:

“The arid plains along our route were flanked by jagged red mountains, resembling a Martian scene. Then, out of nowhere, the Ziz Valley appears as an emerald ribbon winding through the gorge, home to Africa’s largest date plantation. The swollen Ziz river thundered through the valley, adding even more drama to the already impressive landscape.” Head over to our riders’ group using the link in the comments to read more from their journey!

Northern Portugal is a true goldmine, with national parks in every direction, dramatic Atlantic seascapes, and captivating towns and cities each with a rich and intricate story to tell. With the Serra da Estrela, Peneda-Gerês, and Picos de Europa all on offer, you’re riding 10/10 roads almost as soon as your tyres depart the ferry port in Santander!

There are two spaces left on our next Picos and Northern Portugal tour leaving next month. Give us a call ASAP if you’d like to lock in this adventure!

It’s launch week at Magellan HQ, with our most ambitious motorcycle tour to date hitting inboxes today!

For those not subscribed, here’s the lowdown. After years of you all asking for it, next year, we’ll be heading to the very end of the world, to the wild lands and national parks of Patagonia. 17 days across Argentina and Chile, where glaciers, jagged peaks, vast deserts, remote coastlines, and epic gravel roads await.

We’ve already had a number of bookings today, and expect this one to sell out within the first fortnight! You’ll find all the details on the page linked in the comments below. Give us a call if you want to be one of the first riders!

Morocco here we come! It’s bon voyage to our first group heading to Africa in 2025 with Tim Stevenson and co. As we speak, they’re steadily making their way from the ferry port in northern Spain, across a myriad of incredible roads that flow south.

All to come: The bustling souks of Marrakesh, the blue houses of Chefchaouen, the snaking curves of the Tizi N’Tichka and more!

You can follow their journey on the Magellan Riders page linked in the comments!

We’re announcing one of our most ambitious tours to date next week. Here are three facts about the destination.

🗺️ When early explorers arrived, they reported seeing people so tall they assumed they had discovered a race of giants. The reality was more surprising—the locals were simply taller than expected, but myths persisted for centuries.

🌊 At the very edge of the continent, two oceans meet in a swirling, unpredictable dance. The waters here have swallowed countless ships, yet for centuries, explorers risked everything to pass through.

🐎 Here, nature roams free. Large predators, distant cousins of the lion, move across vast open spaces without fences to stop them. Herds of animals migrate between nations, unaware of human-drawn lines on a map.

Time for another edition of guess the road – and this one’s a belter! Here’s a bit of backstory and a few hints. You might have ridden this magical stretch of asphalt on one of our tours – let us know in the comments!

🤝 The idea for this road dates back centuries, as it follows a route once used by merchants and travelers moving goods across the mountains. However, it wasn’t until the 1930s that a modern, paved road was built, designed to connect regions and promote tourism.

🦅 Visitors often spot marmots, ibex, and even golden eagles soaring overhead. The area is also famous for its colourful alpine flowers, which bloom in the short summer months.

📅 When it opened in 1935, it was one of the most ambitious road projects in the region, cutting through dramatic alpine landscapes and reaching heights of over 2,500 metres (8,200 feet).

🏔️ The towering peak that gives this road its name is the highest in its country. Local folklore tells tales of climbers, adventurers, and even supernatural forces that are said to guard the mountain's secrets.

That’s a wrap for our off-road Andalusia week! What a ride it’s been, from the incredible training day in a private facility, to honing our skills on the varying terrains in this magical part of Spain. We’ve conquered riverbeds and ridden dirt tracks high up in the mountains, and each evening, shared some awesome food as the sun shone down on us.

There’s a certain camaraderie you can only find when you’re constantly pushing yourselves to the limit, and those on this tour will remain Magellan friends for life! We’re here for more of the same come November. If you’d like to join, the links in the comments!

In a recent newsletter, we took you to the incredible concentration of national parks that find their home in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It’s hands down one of our favourite places to ride a motorcycle, with incredible mountain ranges, wildlife the likes of which you’ve only seen on the TV, and incredible twisting roads in whichever direction you point your bars.

We’re down to the last three spaces on our September departure this year. We won’t be back in the Pacific Northwest until 2027, so book before it’s too late.

Andalusia is, without a shadow of doubt, one of the greatest – and most underrated – motorcycling destinations in Europe. With year-round riding conditions, and a string of mountains running back to back, you could spend years here finding new roads or trails with each ride.

Last week, we took a group of you to our favourite hotel in the area, for seven days of luggage-free rideouts across the incredible mountains and white-walled towns that dot this landscape.

We’re running this tour again in November this year – you’ve got our number!
