This maiden can be found just up the road from the Old Dairy at the gardens of The Lost Gardens of Heligan - a great place to visit at all times of year.

The Mud Maid is a living sculpture by Sue and Pete Hill created in 1998 at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall 🇬🇧

Her hair and attire shift with the changing seasons as the local flora and moss gradually cover the sculpture.

Very high tides early this week - luckily the locals are prepared and the outer wall protects from the worst of the wind and the waves.

Some water in the village this morning, but all clear now. Next high tide today at 1844 and 5.44m, so please drive slowly through any water.

Beavers are still a rarity in the UK, but places like Heligan are reintroducing them as they are so beneficial to local wildlife, restore wetlands and reduce flooding.
