An afternoon of rugby is an afternoon well spent 🏉 we’ve had a wonderful afternoon cheering on Roseland rugby club playing a home game to Falmouth’s 2nd’s. A good win for the Rose 🌹 a team that we are passionate about, as some of you may know William played rugby for a number of years for the Roseland and both William, Emily and Kevin attended Roseland school. This year we were lucky enough to become a sponsor for the club alongside Craig Edwards building and plastering. Craig also attended the Roseland school and played many years for the Roseland rugby club. Congratulations team 🥇 we are proud to sponsor such an amazing club, long may it continue 🏉

Team Celtic would like to wish all of our customers and colleagues a very Merry Christmas as we wind down for the festive period 🎄 Our last working day of 2023 was made extra special due to the arrival of our 💥 brand new comacchio 205 drilling rig 💥 further expanding our fleet! We look forward to having her out on site next year.

We are a specialist drilling contractor with 30+ years of experience. Located in the heart of Cornwall servicing Cornwall, and the southwest.

We offer extensive specialist rotary, land drilling services to include;

Geotechnical ground investigations were standardised testing and core drilling is required.

Groundsource boreholes and installation of required ground loop a method of harnessing latent heat stored in the ground and using it to produce energy for your home in the form of heating and hot water.

Mining investigations to determine locations and severity of near surface mine workings.

Water boreholes for domestic or commercial customers.

Gas/water environmental monitoring wells.

Piling to enable building in areas of mass filled land, alluvial deposits or in areas where historic mining features lie negating the possibility of future subsidence. Mini piles can also be used to facilitate retaining wall systems or increased slope stability.

Piles for miles!

Here is a piling job we have recently completed ✔️

The completed depth of piles on this job ranged from 7 to 12 meters, varying across the site.

Piles are generally installed where traditional strip foundations are not possible, potentially where land has been filled or where bedrock is overlaid by alluvials or weak overburden. The cased part of the pile is driven into competent bedrock whereby a suitable rock socket is drilled. This socket is the load bearing part of the pile, distributing the weight of the building into the rock surrounding it.

In this case, the area piled was once an old mica damn, now backfilled with Imerys waste material. Ground conditions were particularly challenging at times during casing as there were many bouldery areas encountered and potentially what we believe may have been a historic dam wall.

These challenges did not deter our experienced drillers from creating this masterpiece

**Lead Driller Job Opportunity**

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to employ an NVQ qualified lead driller to join our dedicated team at Celtic Drilling Ltd.

Our requirements:

• NVQ level 2 in Lead drilling/rotary drilling
• Trailer/towing licence
• Experience undertaking projects, included, but not limited to Mining investigations, Coring, Water Boreholes, Ground source, Water/Gas monitoring holes, and Piling.

Added extra qualifications, desired but not required as we support ongoing training:

• Face fit mask Cert
• First aid Cert
• Cat and Genny Cert
• Manual handling cert

Perfect piling! A little preview of a piling contract driller Kev and second man Matt have recently undertaken. Access was awkward and tight, however due to the compact size of our mini rigs they were able to safely and effectively manoeuvre the rig into position, this required winching the rig down 4 flights of steps, utilising the PUWER/LOLER certified winch mounted to the Landrover to enable them to undertake the drilling, allowing the client to continue the building project on secured foundations.
