After 2 years of study and assessments, I'm really pleased to share that I've passed my Diploma in 'Complete Canine Care' with a Merit from the British College of Canine Studies.

Having this qualification means a lot to me. I also hope that it helps to add another level of reassure for my clients, so that when I provide a service for them, they feel confident that the care I provide is of the highest standard I can give.

There were 14 units which I had to pass each one before progressing onto the next covering the following:

• UNIT ONE – Early Days With Mum
• UNIT TWO – Canine Mind and Senses
• UNIT THREE – Pairing Dogs and Owners
• UNIT FOUR – Breed and Behaviour
• UNIT FIVE – Getting Introductions Right
• UNIT SIX – The Importance of Socialisation
• UNIT SEVEN – The Importance of Boundaries and Rules
• UNIT EIGHT – Health, Grooming & Nutrition
• UNIT NINE – Why Dogs Need Exercise
• UNIT TEN – Communication and Reading Body Language
• UNIT ELEVEN – Basic Training
• UNIT TWELVE – Common Problems and Issues
• UNIT THIRTEEN – Understanding Aggression
• UNIT FOURTEEN – The Influence of Human Personality

Throughout September, we're putting our best paws forward to raise some money for Bowel Cancer UK

New Dawn - Cornwall, is sponsoring every dog £5 that we walk in September, to show our suppawt for Bowel Cancer UK’s 'Walkies Together' September fundraiser.

I've been taking part in the Bowel Cancer UK Walk Together events since they began in 2017 and with the help of friends and family have raised to date, a total of £5,672.91.

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable. 43,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK.

The funds I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

You can follow my progress and find out more via my business Instagram or page - New Dawn - Cornwall.

For anyone that would like to make a donation, you're very welcome to do this via my fundraising page:

Some great advice I hope anyone looking to have someone care for their dog checks. This is why I work in partnership with Muddy Paws Cornwall ❤️

We’re a team of great women who have the same ethics and always go the extra mile for our clients dogs.

If I can’t help you with one of my dog boarding services, I will always recommend you contact Michelle at Muddy Paws. We have worked together and share the same standards, procedures and policies to make sure your dogs safety and welfare always comes first along with oodles of love, fun and attention when your dog is in our care 🐾🐾

⭐️ Choosing the right dog walker or pet sitter can be difficult, especially if you are a new dog owner. ⭐️

Here are some helpful tips on what to look for:

✔️ Book a Pre-visit – This gives you and your dog the chance to meet your walker. For a pet sit this is really important. Your dog can have a good sniff around and you can both see where your dog will be staying. Your dog will be familiar with the home and more relaxed for their stay.

✏️ Check that they have insurance – A cover note can be provided

📃Check that they have a Pet Sitting licence – A sitter has to have a licence from the local council. The licence will be displayed.

🐶 Check how many dogs they are insured to walk/ board at one time – This will be on the insurance docs and licence.

❓What is their experience – How long have they been walking/ pet sitting?

📚Do they have any qualifications – Have they taken any training courses? Do they have First Aid?

❤️Good luck with your search. We hope this helps you find a walker that will love your pooch as much as you do!❤️

Update: NOW BOOKED!

If you'd still like to come and visit, we have one night free on 12th September and it's free from 30th September into the last months for 2024.

The hut is fully insulated, snug and cosy so it's still a perfect place to take a break in the cooler months too and you never know, it might be sunnier than this summer has been!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun is officially out but sadly some guests have had to cancel their 3 night stay with us from 27th-30th August 2024.

If anyone is looking for a last minute get away, we have reduced our nightly rate for these dates to £80 (£91 with AirBnB fee included) to try and get them rebooked.

Check it out here: www.airbnb.com/h/anewdawn and go grab a bargain!
