The second phase of our transformation has been approved by Cornwall Council. The project will see the historic site developed and expanded to provide the pottery with the world-class facilities needed to grow our learning programme, increase studio production and bring the story of the 100-year-old pottery to life.
The view shown here is a small part of the new Leach Pottery reception which will replace a building from 2008. The Grade II Listed buildings will be retained, refreshed and improved in line with planning permission.
Visitors to the museum have always asked for somewhere to sit and have a drink, it’s also a place for course participants during their breaks and to help the local community feel welcome onsite.
We continue to be a small scale studio training apprentices and other potters – some of whom have then moved onto the Gaolyard Studios.
