Check out the current exhibition with from Ohcejohka (Utsjoki), Finland, in the cultural region of Sápmi. The Sámi tradition is based on reciprocity, respect and equal status for nature and people and this is displayed throughout the colourful textural exhibition against the beautiful backdrop of the Tate. Outi says our land is often pictured as wilderness or no-man’s land. I want to show that it is a cultural environment that has evolved in coexistence with all living entities, including humans. I use the term ‘radical softness’ when describing my work because I find it is radical to love, to wish well, to help and heal’. Check it out - it’s a colourful indulgence.
