🏰 SO MANY CASTLES in East Sussex...
Here I am with my little boy at Bodiam Castle. This castle is very special to our family as my brother and sister in law got married here: HOW MAGICAL!
If you have a membership you get free entry, and it’s the perfect place to have a picnic. If pub grub is your bag, then the pub opposite is FABULOUS and has a huuuuuge pub garden which is perfect for kids to run wild.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

“What an amazing time we had! I knew the apartment was going to be beautiful but....WOW!! Rhiannon was the perfect host with making sure that everything was perfectly set up for our stay, there was even a lovely welcome hamper for us too!! Rhiannon also went the extra mile to find out what we like and recommend lots for us to do locally, we did all of them!! St Leonard’s and Hastings has so much to do wether it be a couples
Weekend or family getaway and I can’t recommend the flat enough! We will be back for sure!! Thank you so much for making our first family of 4 Holiday so special! Xx” ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I always wanted to live in a baroque palace, but that’s a bit out of my budget, so this bedroom is the next best thing.

🏰 One of the things that has always blown my mind is that the Battle of Hastings didn’t take place in Hastings... it took place in Battle! This photo was taken on a family trip to the ruins of Battle Abbey.
The village of Battle is a short train ride away or quick 15min drive. There are lots of lovely little walks, shops and cafés as well as the Battle Abbey.
It’s a great day out for a history buff (my husband) or if you just like beautiful views and old buildings (me!) There’s also a BRILLIANT and really unique play area for children. Did I mention that there’s an awesome ice cream parlour in the village too... 🍦
An English Heritage membership is worth every penny in this part of the country, the south coast is FULL of incredible castles 🏰⁣⁣⁣⁣
