A word of WARNING : The fines have been stiffened, fracture will be painful.
We are now in the Turtle season 🐢 and the loggerhead turtles have already started to show up in Patara as well as many other famous beaches along the Turquoise coast (Iztuzu, Manavgat, Cirali etc).

This is not new : Its illegal to enter the beaches at night 8pm to 8am during turtle season. No entry, no cars, no fires, no tents - entry is illegal for all, save some helpers/researchers and law enforcement.

What is new is the stiffness of the fines.
This year, its set at 387,141 TL
That translates to over 10,000 dollars and shy of 10,000 pounds.
There are regular patrols and many volunteers. Getting caught will be very painful, just not worth it. Please let friends/family or incoming guests know.

I am in touch with the team of turtle volunteers and if they have any turtle show and tell (usually towards the end of the season) they will let me know and I will ofcourse let you know too.

Hello everyone, we hope that you’re all well and have had a great start to 2024! We’ve been very quiet since the season ended as we’ve been winding down over the winter months and planning for the season ahead.
Many of you have been messaging for information and bookings over the last few months and we’re very grateful for your patience whilst we have been finalising our prices. Everyone who is on our waiting list should now have been contacted with our prices for the coming season and confirmation of your bookings. If you were waiting and have not been contacted for some reason please get in touch again.
Unfortunately our costs are higher than ever this year due to the extreme inflation in Turkey which has had to be reflected in our prices. That being said, we are finally ready to open the diary and take bookings.
We will be offering both private and mixed group trips as always, to book your trip with us or for more information, please get in touch. We advise booking early to secure your place on-board as we get booked up very quickly, especially in the busy season.

Another incredible find that makes you realise once again why Türkiye so special ….

A few years ago, the world’s largest intact ancient mosaic opened to the public in Antakya, Turkey.
The sixth-century stone mosaic, spanning some 1,200 square meters and made up of geometric shapes and non-repeating figures, was probably used as a public space in its time, archaeologists believe.
The stone is distinctive due to its curved, rug-like surface, and the artifact grew curved as a result of earthquakes in 526 and 528 AD.
Despite the quakes, however, the mosaic never broke, and made it to the present day intact and unbroken.
Unearthing the piece took nine years of hard work, and other historical artifacts were brought out during the excavation.
The massive mosaic proved that the mosaics of Antakya - ancient Antioch, in the Hatay province - are the finest historical artifacts not only in Turkey, but in the entire world.
