Amazing afternoon in Calstock at the Tamar River Festival with jazz bands, candy floss, burgers, chips, beer, cider, bubbles, kids’ circus skills, the Drip Drip, Friends of The River Tamar and lots of others. Beautiful weather and a really fun afternoon. Thank you to all of the organisers!

Today is World Mental Health Day. We are so lucky here at Rowse to enjoy the peace and tranquility of living in such a beautiful setting. There is nothing we love more than taking the dog down into the woods and recharging in nature. It’s a perfect way to escape the laptop or the endless list of jobs and unwind and reconnect. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that our own mental well-being matters and that it’s important to exercise some self care.

Autumn Beach Escape? The summer dog ban has been lifted on our local beaches and Peanut is desperate to get down there! Here she is, having had a dip, at Freathy Beach in nearby Whitsand Bay. Last weekend was full of excitement at the Pillaton Gardening Club’s Summer show. put 2 entries in and one of them won first prize!

scooped a batch of first second & third prizes in the floral art section and a random first prize in the cherry tomato section. Rock & Roll!

We took time out from turning cottages over to have a special lunch I was the first person to try the brand new tuna ceviche dish - STUNNING - from the A la carte menu, while the husband had a double helping of smoked haddock. Finished off with a cheeky meringue from the A certain addition to our Guest Information folders 👌
