N E W G A L E

A stunning 2-mile stretch of sand, this Pembrokeshire beach is popular with all visitors. Backed by a pebble bank defending the village and the road behind, said to be caused by the great storm back in 1859. Facing West, this beach is open to winds making it a perfect spot for windsurfers and watersport enthusiasts, with tuition also available here. This blue flag beach is subject to dog restrictions during the season, and at high tide, the beach completely disappears so be sure to check the tide times before making the trip.

Discover the smallest city in Britain. The 12th century Cathedral here gives St Davids' its city status and is one of wales' most iconic religious sites. Although several older cathedrals were built here at the same site before this time, due to its vulnerable location near the sea, St Davids was prone to viking attacks leaving these older structures destroyed.

In modern day, St Davids is a quaint little place full of character and is well worth a visit. This peninsula has some of the most magnificent coastal scenery in Pembrokeshire.

The Green Bridge Of Wales is a naturally formed archway extending out into the sea. The archway's surface is covered in vegetation giving it a perfectly suited name. The far end of The Green Bridge is made up of a strong, hard rock enabling it to withstand the elements of the sea and wind. The bridge itself, however, is made up primarily of limestone making it vulnerable to erosion as a result of crashing waves and pebbles below. Sad to think that over time the bridge will cease to exist as it erodes and eventually collapses only to become a stack much like the neighbouring Stack Rocks.

Also known as Elegug Stacks, welsh for guillemot, this pair of detached limestone pillars stand proud from the sea and are home to flocks of birds throughout the seasons. In the Springtime the tops of of the stacks and ledges below are filled with guillemots and razorbills. Fulmar and kittiwake can also be found nesting on the cliffs as well as herring and blackbacked gulls. During the Winter the inland plateau brings thrushes, crows and lapwings where the rich grassland is also home to a range of reptiles and small mammals.

The road passes through the Castlemartin firing range and is occasionally closed to the public so prior planning is advised to avoid disappointment.

21ST-23RD JUNE
L C W is fast approaching. Hosted in Tenby, we are a short distance away for those taking part and those who wish to spectate. With plenty of sporting events taking place in Pembrokeshire, the local community certainly know how to support the athletes, cheering them on all the way.

We do still have a small number of units available for 7 night stays or 3 night weekend breaks. Hot tub units and indoor heated swimming make for relaxing down time off the course.

M A R L O E S

The geology on this Pembrokeshire beach is fantastic with the cliffs that back the stretch of golden sand. Low tide further reveals rock strata, providing lots of little bays which divide the beach up. Rockpools can be found at the western end where you can also access Albion Sands between the beach and Gateholm Island. Named after a paddle steamer, who's wreck can be seen here at low tide, The Albion was said to have been carrying a cargo of pigs and whiskey before making its final resting place here over 180 years ago.

With an additional Hollywood claim to fame for this beach, as it was home to scenes shot here from the film Snow White And The Huntsman back in September 2011.
Keep in mind that this long stretch of sand can disappear at high tide so please check tide times before planning your visit.

Pembrokeshire is the only coastal National Park in Britain and has so much to offer its visitors. Although one of the smallest of the UK's National Parks, it certainly makes up for this with its dramatic coastal scenery.

Our seaward boundary here at Swallow Tree allows for direct access to the 186-mile coastal path, a haven for anyone who enjoys breathtaking views, walking and wildlife. Whether it's walked during the blowy, breezy days of Spring, or throughout the glorious Summer sun, these paths can be enjoyed all year round. Invigorating and grounding, where the land meets our seas.

Another Spring delight, and one of its last flowers to bloom before the woodlands provide shelter with their fast-growing canopies. This protected species can take years to recover from footfall after taking time to establish their colonies.

You will find almost half of the world's bluebells across the UK, and in Pembrokeshire, we are not short on carpets of blues. Tread carefully as you go!

Another reason to visit us in the Spring🥰

Great resource here for any visitors with ease of access in mind.

Pembrokeshire has so many beautiful sights to take in so it's really helpful to find all the locations in one place for those hoping to avoid steps and sleeper inclines during their visit.

If you need to avoid steps and steep inclines, there are still plenty of breathtaking places you can access in the National Park Wheelchair walks Walks for all Routes for people who use mobility scooters, manual or powered wheelchairs and those with limited walking ability. They can also be enjoyed....

The first sheen of green on Swallow Tree lane emerged just yesterday!

Is Spring trying to push through the mizzle? Could the light at the end of the tunnel that is beach days, boat trips and barbecues be just a bit brighter?

Thoughts of Spring and Summer sunny day activities bubbling up now; what to do first when the weather breaks?!
