Tillers Cottage is a fabulous semi-detached coursed stonework cottage, in the picturesque village of Ebberston, located between Scarborough and Pickering in the Ryedale District of North Yorkshire. This self catering holiday cottage is warm, welcoming and comfortable throughout. Tillers Cottage will appeal to families and friends, accommodating up to eight people (plus one infant) and one well beh

aved dog. Dating back to the 18th Century, Tillers cottage has been beautifully restored to provide guests with exceptionally comfortable and stylish accommodation, combining character features with modern amenities. The popular beaches of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey are all within a 30-minute drive. At Scarborough there are numerous visitor attractions including: two sweeping sandy bays, Scarborough Castle, The Rotunda Museum, Peasholm Park, The North Bay Railway, Sealife Centre, Sky Trail Adventure and Alpamare Waterpark to name but a few. In Whitby, Captain Cook’s statue, Whitby Abbey and Dracula are some of the main attractions.

Had such a fantastic ‘Gardener’s Lunch’ at Highly recommend this place and it’s so local to Tillers.

Plenty also to do at Stunning grounds and gardens. Well worth a visit.

Take a look at what makes Tillers special.

Tillers is a beautiful character cottage with space for everyone to relax. With two lounge areas, with log burning stoves, there's not arguments about what to watch on the smart TVs!

Four bedrooms, two with king size beds and two twin bedrooms, allows everyone a great night's sleep. The upstairs layout is also superb for two families sharing: one family have the king ensuite and twin at the top of the stairs and then other have the king and twin with use of the family bathroom.

Outside, you'll find a beautiful cottage garden across the driveway. Head down to the far end to find the private patio area - the perfect place for breakfast or evening drinks!

This place is an absolute gem. Brilliant breakfasts and lunches served here. Always a warm welcome and superb food.

Super farm shop too for all those necessities.

The kids can run off some steam in the excellent playground or even take a ride on the train.

Well worth the visit - and just 10 minutes drive from Tillers.

Where did you last walk to?

From Tillers, there are several walks you can do from the door. Our favourite walk is through Chafer Wood, past King Alfred’s Cairn and then back in a loop. It’s a less than 3 miles walk but can be extended. We often stop off at the pub for a cheeky drink before returning to Tillers.

We have 3 black labradors - all related, but all with very different characters.

The old lady of the family is very laid back and relaxed.
The middle one likes to show off her inner ‘regal’ side with her crossed legs.
The young one, alert and proud.

We’ve had, what can only be described as the best week ever here in North Yorkshire.

The cottage, as absolute wonderful base to many areas of AONB, several of which we have explored daily.

We absolutely love reading your reviews of Tillers Cottage. We’re always saying how Tillers is in the perfect location for exploring so many places, but when our guests also comment on it, we know they agree.

So many places, each day can be different but equally as enjoyable.

People often ask what we enjoy doing when we’re not farming or sorting Tillers. We spend many hours on the side of a tennis court supporting our daughter who loves to play competitive tennis.
