The Magic of Spurn. Over three months of this autumn It was massive a joy to lead many tours on the Humber and at Spurn alongside my fabulous guides Mark James Pearson and Johnny Mac.

We had a fantastic time. Great guests sharing our love of the area and its wildlife and loads of bird highlights from the thrill of seeing thrushes pour out of the sky to watching some very special rarities, and we clocked up 165 species. Vessel Data just in from the North Sea Wildlife Trusts who were on our Seabird & Whale trips this year has revealed we saw cetaceans on 81% of the survey dates and Minke Whales on 67% of trips with surveys. Day four guiding on our Spurn Migrants Yorkshire Coast Nature birding tour. A short afternoon trip to Weeton Outstrays provided fantastic views of a male Hen Harrier which flew right past us. Shortly afterwards we found a female Hen Harrier, three Marsh Harriers and a Short-eared Owl. Two hours in raptor heaven and very happy guests.
