Peasholm at Dawn 🦆🦢🐦‍⬛🪿🦉

What a treat! The dawn chorus echoed all around the trees - ducks, gulls, geese, blackbirds, crows and a couple of owls having a conversation across the open air theatre. Video to follow!

Purple Dawn 🌅

You wouldn’t be able to tell with the thick grey clouds we have at the moment, but this morning started with a spectacular sunrise. Purples and blues, turned into pinks, then orange and red. Dawn on the beach is often the most beautiful time of the day ❤️

Winter Dawn in Scarborough

Last week was filled with dark and cold mornings. With sunrise after 8am it was dark on our morning walk, but here are a few snaps. The reflections on the sand made for some great pics!

🌅 SUNRISE 🌄

Well, it has been a bit of a grey start to the year, not at all like this time last year - but here are some of last week’s sunrise pics.
Even on a cold, grey, cloudy morning, you just can’t beat that view!
One morning a sparrowhawk joined us on our walk up the cliffs. We often spot these birds of prey around the fields above Scalby Mills, but this one seemed to be right over the beach 🦅🌊

🌅 SUNSET 🌅

You just can’t beat a beautiful winter sunset in Scarborough. Unless it’s a beautiful Scarborough sunrise! For this year’s new year resolution we started taking pictures of the sunrise every morning from the same spot at North Bay, with our favourite view over towards the castle. We’ll be doing the same again in 2024, and will share all the pictures, because whatever the weather (rain, cloud, fog, snow, or glorious sunshine) that view is stunning!
