Unwins are recruiting additional Welder/Fabricators. Due to continual expansion, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals looking for full time permanent careers within the Steel industry.

These positions are welding/fabricating processing structural/construction steel. The right candidate will be able to read and work from engineering drawings and have a strong understanding of material sections, weld symbols and the MIG welding process.

As a fabricator/welder you will also be expected to perform a number of general duties which include:

· Fork Lift Truck

· General housekeeping and upkeep of weld plant machinery and work area.

· Loading/unloading of material on/off of trailers

About You:

You will have proven history of MIG welding and fabrication in a constructional steel setting. These positions require enthusiastic individuals with a keen eye for detail and ability to work towards daily and weekly production targets, whilst consistently maintain high quality standards. You must be able to use workshop hand tools, grinders, OXY cutting and have some band saw experience. The successful candidate will be physically fit and familiar working in a fast paced environment.

Individuals must have a flexible and dynamic approach to working hours and be willing and able to work overtime.

Skills and Qualifications:

· 3+ Years as MIG fabricator/welder

· Experience in the steel industry (essential)

· Ability to read engineering drawings (essential)

· Ability to accurately use measuring equipment (essential)

· Overhead Crane (desirable)

· Forklift / Side loader (desirable)

· Must have strong written and spoken English.

· Excellent time keeping, positive attitude, ability to work independently

ALL CANDIDATES WILL BE SUBJECT TO A WELD TEST

Working Hours:

· Monday – Friday

· 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm minimum: overtime available and expected when company needs require this

Working to extremely tight tolerances with machined parts on this crane boom, we didn’t want to heat the boss to get this bushing in and we didn’t want to damage the bush/boss by press fitting. So we froze it, as you can see by the results, it was a perfect fit.
