Our Summer Open Days start soon! 😎❤️🤍The lighthouse will be open every Sunday from 14th July to 8th September 🗓️

📆Due to space restrictions, places and numbers are limited, and pre-booking is strongly advised. Online booking closes the day before, however, there may be a limited number of walk-in places on the day, on a first come, first served basis.

🎟️ Adults £5, Children £2 (plus booking fee) - Children must be a minimum of 1.15 metres high to climb the tower and must be able to climb unaided. 🪜Please note there are steep steps at the top of the tower, and the main staircase is open - see the website for more details.

🐾Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the tower on open days, but you are welcome to wait with your furry friend outside and alternate tours.

Join us for an evening of wildlife spotting.

Our Kingfisher Cruises are starting from July 23rd, 2024 and running on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two time slots are available - 5.30pm or 6.30pm. All the booking information is on our website. A link is in our bio.
Our electric boat, Marsh Harrier , is accessible and super quiet.

We can’t guarantee a kingfisher but this it the best time of day to spot them. Dress warmly as it can get cold on the water.
Light refreshments are available at the museum.

Pre-booked tickets are essential.

This is so important please do not chase seals back into the sea.

📢📢. Please share to try and spread the message as unfortunately we are finding on a daily basis that this is still happening along our coast.

We attended a seal yesterday late afternoon that wasn't in the best shape. Common seals (as this one is in the photo) cannot share rehabilitation facilities in close quarters with grey seals, hence advance arrangements have to be worked out.

Whilst we were in discussions with the seal hospital as to the best resolution for this poorly common seal yesterday, someone unhelpfully spooked it back into the sea! They were following it towards the water and filming on a smartphone with 2 children by their side.

This was unfortunate to witness as the poorly seal will not improve without onward treatment, now we have to hope that it will turn up elsewhere soon if it is to have any chance of recovery.

Always call a seal rescue organisation for advice regarding seals if you think they are in need of help. Please do not return a seal to the water. This is a continuous misconception that seals should be in water. Seals come out of the sea intentionally as they want to be on land, they are not 'stranded'. Seals do not strand! Another common belief is that seals cannot return to the sea without help, or need water pouring on them to keep them wet/ hydrated. Unfortunately, again we have these acts occur every week where well intentioned members of the public do exactly that. It is completely unnecessary and causes unnecessary stress to the individual seal.

We will look to create some temporary signage to put in the vicinity of seals we attend to ensure in future, those we have attended can be seen to have been checked or being monitored. That way it will hopefully minimise and disturbance and stress caused.

Every year we have incidents where a number of seals are drowned due to being put in the sea too soon if they're not weaned, or because they are unwell and too weak to be in the sea, hence being on a beach.
