Just arriving back at the Islands this morning from a 10,000 mile winter migration flying around Antarctica, we have the first Arctic Terns here at the Farne Islands.
Numbers will rise each day as more birds arrive, with eggs laid by mid May.

This tour includes a cruise around all the Farne Islands, viewing the sea birds on the cliff faces, visiting the Grey Seal colonies and also follows the route Grace Darling and her father took during their heroic rescue in 1838.

News Flash!!

Puffins back at the Farne Islands this morning.

We have been out with National Trust workmen this morning and can confirm a small number of Puffins rafting on the water close to the Islands.
Great news as the birds begin to arrive back from their winter migration, the nesting season is fast approaching.
