That’s a wrap for the 2024 season…
When the weather is good and renovations permit, we will be open for Winter weekends, offering our hot drinks and a seasonal chalkboard menu. Look out on social media for updates regarding this.

✅ £2 winter parking offer updated: you said, East Devon District Council delivered

For £2 from Friday 1 November 2024 to Monday 31 March 2025, you can park for up to four hours in most short stay car parks or up until midnight in all other East Devon District Council (EDDC) car parks*.

Listening to feedback from residents about last year’s winter offer, EDDC is introducing changes at some of the busiest locations.

🚗 Four-hour limit at short-stay car parks in Sidmouth, Exmouth, and Honiton (tickets at these locations cannot be used again at another car park)
🏎️ No change to the winter offer at EDDC’s other car parks

The winter parking offer has proved popular each year and the updated offer aims to ensure that as many residents and visitors as possible can benefit from the reduced parking prices.

❌Please note that Mamhead Slipway, and Sideshore Car Park in Exmouth, Otter Estuary Nature Reserve in Budleigh Salterton, and Lyme Street in Axminster, are not included in the offer as they are managed by EDDC but are owned privately.

Makeover Alert at 🤩 Our hard working Tuesday Task Force volunteers spent their morning installing our new up-to-date maps and interpretation! Our site has developed a lot since the last maps were designed so it feels great to show them off to the growing number of visitors we are getting year on year 🙌🏻

We know many of you are fans of Bake Off so we couldn’t resist offering our own version which will take place on Saturday 23rd November.

We have three categories and prizes to be won for each of the following-
1. A Christmas cake (7 inch)
2. A Winter Wonderland themed cake (any size)
3. A children’s category for a cake or cupcakes (four)

We are delighted to be joined by our Guest judge Hugo Guest from Glebe House who promises he has no local allegiances!!

Entries can be brought to the Mariners’ Hall between 10am and 12pm with judging happening across lunchtime and an announcement of the winners on this page and on the Mariners Hall notice board.
