Sun! After days and days of rain and Meh! Out on the bike with the camera finally! Not the best of light for some of the images overlooking Castle Kennedy and Stranraer but the views! Both the White and the Black Loch, Luce Bay, Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man in one view! The couple of Ailsa Craig were taken early evening so the light was much softer. Thanks for looking :)

Happy NY all.

Been a bit wet and miserable in Stranraer recently. Up early this morning and saw that it was going to be an OK sunrise so headed off up the back of Stranraer. This is looking SE with Stranraer off to my left.

Thanks for looking, as always.

The winter forest floor.

It's been a tad on the cold side! Even Stranraer had about 2 inches of snow at the beginning of the week, more than I've seen since I started living here. Before the snow arrived I took Ziggy for a walk last Sunday with quite a heavy frost. I didn't have my normal camera with me but did have my phone. These images are taken with a middle of the road Samsung S20 FE, nothing top of the range. Some processing in Photoshop. Thanks for looking.

Summertime? Nope Mid October, although this could easily have been taken in mid August. The early morning mist was beginning to burn off in the low sunrise. I had setup to take this shot while a couple of rabbits sat in the shade but guess I must have spooked them.

Thanks for looking :)

Thank you to Michael French from the Mull of Galloway Trust for contacting me asking to provide some images for the "Magic of the Mull" photography exhibition. Had a chance to have a brief visit today and see some of the other fantastic images on display. Have to say it's the busiest I've seen the Mull. If you're in the area, well worth a visit.

The 'Magic of the Mull' Photography Exhibition - launching today 11-4pm at the Mull of Galloway!

Couple of Mono Images from Port Logan this afternoon. Very sunny so was hoping for some decent clouds, there was actually very little, mostly bright blue sky. Taken with two dark filters to get a long exposure. Thanks for looking :)

Killantringan for the sunset last night. Setting Sun and big clouds, can't beat it! The strange looking part below the rocks under the sun is actually the bow of a shipwreck, The Craigantlet. This is all that's left. Have a look here for the story: https://www.scottishshipwrecks.com/craigantlet/

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hey folks, how are you all? Well it's been a while since I posted and that's because I've had quite a lot of personal stuff going on, so not been out with the camera. Decided to get back on the horse last night and headed off to Ardwell Bay for Sunset. Decided to capture some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement - where you move the camera while the shutter is open) and get the sunset. This one is just after the sun dipped below the horizon. Thanks for looking and I'll get some more images up soon :)

Happy New Year everyone. 2022 - Bring it on!

Out for a long NYD walk yesterday and had some gorgeous light. Captured a few images using Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) of the woods as the sun filtered through. Quite like these and will either print off as a set or one of them as a larger print. Please view each one large to get the detail.

Hope you all had a great NY. Thanks for looking as always :)

I'm floored with Covid and have been for the past week. It's not nice, it's not just like Flu and it's ruined my sense of taste and smell. Christmas has been tainted :( I'm getting better slowly and can't wait to get outside just for a walk, regardless of weather! If you've not had your jabs..............!

Thank you to everyone for following my work this year. I've been quiet for various reasons but hopefully I can start to get out more and go further than this year. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas that's full of happiness, peace and hopefully, health! Let's catch up in 2022.

On one of the rare occasions the sun made an appearance on Friday. This is looking across Loch Tulla and it could be mistaken for a balmy summers evening.

Glencoe yesterday. No snow (only on the peaks), constant squally showers with brief (60 seconds) breaks between them. Took a drive and did see the sun briefly on a couple of occasions. Anyway, here's an image taken during one of those pesky showers. Honeypot location yes, but I had it to myself funnily!

Thanks for looking.

What a difference a day makes...............

After yesterdays glorious sunrise, this morning at Castle Kennedy. Low cloud, drizzle, general yuk! But the low cloud does add atmosphere.

Galloway Sunrise, somewhere along the A75 this morning. Bit of a dodgy walk right next to the road as HGV's thundered on towards Stranraer.

Clatteringshaws this morning. Thick rainclouds were moving across but I was lucky enough to get the sun come through from behind and start a little rainbow.

Some more images of Ailsa Craig. They stopped mining here in 1969 and the buildings have just been left to decay apart from the lighthouse which is still in use.

Had a day trip onto Ailsa Craig yesterday. Had two hours to explore and full sunshine. Before we set back to Girvan we were taken round the island. These are a couple of images of the rock on the NW side I think. Interesting rock formations and lots of nesting birds.
