We're thrilled to share with you that a new ‘highest-point’ marker has been installed on the TPT as part of the efforts to celebrate the Trail's 35th anniversary.

Located on the Trail's highest point above Woodhead Tunnel on Windle Edge in Barnsley, this new addition is also now registered as a historical landmark on Google Maps, check it out at https://maps.app.goo.gl/AP2nwQZCR28kCoRF8

A massive thank you to Peter and Pete Brocklehurst and the Pennine Volunteers for their incredible work in progressing both the physical and online markers. Also, heartfelt gratitude to the Friends of the TPT for funding the stone and to the Barnsley Rangers who installed it.

Make sure to look out for the marker when you're next on the Dunford Bridge to Woodhead section of the Trail, take a moment to admire the view, and don’t forget to send us your highest-point selfies!

This Sunday (15th) hundreds of farmers will be parading their tractors displaying 1000s of fairy lights and props for the annual Bradfield Christmas Tractor Run to raise money for Weston Park Cancer Charity and Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice. We will certainly be partaking in order to help raise money for these wonderful charities 💕🚜!

It was the younger generation at Windleden Farm Cottages that brought home some ribbons and silverware from Honley Agricultural Show yesterday with their pet sheep/lambs:

Honley Show is a fabulous little agricultural show now too far from our cottages. There are some upcoming agricultural shows local to us which are well worth a visit, so if you have an upcoming stay with us it’s definitely worth checking out what’s on in the area.

🐑 Lovely end to the day here at Windleden Farm with a check around all the animals.

🐑 We have sheep of all different shapes, sizes and colours and a few cattle to add into the mix!

🪺 Tonight we’ve seen the curlews and lapwings, beautiful to see them come back to our farmland year on year 🥰

🍁 Well it’s certainly felt a little Autumnal up on the farm these last couple of weeks but guests have enjoyed cosying up in front of the log fires in Shepherds Nook and Woodlands Clough and taking advantage of the underfloor heating in our Waters Edge cottage 🔥 🌞 The weather is set to warm up once again at the weekend so if your looking for a last minute weekend away, get in touch for some great deals! 🌟
