Hi.
Sad news. Sheila Stokes passed away on Wednesday morning 8th December 2021.
She was a founder member of the ski club.
She will be sadly missed. To absent friends 🍺🥂
Funeral at Hutcliffe Wood for 2:15 pm on Thursday the 30th Dec 2021.

NEW SHEFFIELD SKI SLOPE SET TO BECOME A REALITY

Council chiefs have agreed a 150-year lease with Extreme Destinations to create an internationally-recognised sport and leisure destination at Parkwood Springs with work beginning as early as next year.

The site will include a modern ski slope, mountain biking trails, a hub building with shops, bars and restaurants as well as visitor accommodation, alongside a major international operator.

The initial phases could boost Sheffield’s economy with investment of up to £40m, and once the entire 21-hectare site is complete that could eventually top £60m.

The development will be on the former Sheffield Ski Village site, which opened in 1988 but closed in 2012 following a series of fires.

The club's open night is tonight at the Green Dragon, Dronfield.
There will be food, club holiday videos and Christian Xavier will be on hand for any ski related questions and discussion.

The club's resident technician is back in Sheffield for a limited time! If you have skis that need a service, wether it's a repair job, or just a wax and edge, you can bring them to the fourth Wednesday meeting at The Green Dragon. Alternatively they can be brought to 23 Bingham Park Crescent, just call Welwyn D'Roza prior to drop off.

Pricing is as follows.
Wax and Edge: £10
Small base repair + Wax and Edge: £15
Large base repair + Wax and Edge: £20+ depending on level of damage
