Customer Support Manager, Rosie, is on the trail in the Khumbu and sent this update from our Everest 3 Peaks 3 Passes trek. "This morning we walked up to the Everest view hotel and it was especially great to see Ama Dablam knowing many people who love it. On the way down we went to the Sagamatha Next visitor centre to learn about how they’re managing waste in the Khumbu so it can get to Kathmandu for proper recycling. They have an art gallery with everything created from waste (can’t be many galleries at 3800m!)"

"Before the snows of Kilimanjaro melt, we must reach the top of Africa. Yet we started small, or a bit smaller at least, with 4,566 metre (14,980 feet) Mount Meru, Kilimanjaro’s little brother. Mount Meru would allow us to test the heights, to fuel our blood with oxygen. Best of all, a day after arriving we were walking with giraffes and waltzing amongst the WartHogs, getting both a bonus safari and a bonus peak before we headed for the true heights of Africa. And Mount Meru had huts and dining halls and terraces over the jungle; to eat well, sleep well and look out over the plains of Africa. As the sun set our first night, the birds, weary from an enthusiastic day of welcoming us with trills and rhapsodies amongst the thick jungle trees, kindly faded away and we lay back on our mats in the mountain huts and slept the night away."

Ojos del Salado is the highest volcano in South America and one of the 'Seven Volcanic Summits'. We have climbed it on 4 previous occasions. We have a confirmed team for 4 - 22 January 2025 (it's a 19-day itinerary from the UK (17 days if you join in Copiapo) and there's still time to join. The itinerary has been carefully designed to provide sufficient acclimatisation - beware, there are a lot of 2-week trips to Ojos, as logistics make it easy to get high very quickly. If you'd like more info, then get in touch. Photos: Rob Wymer and Chris Groves

Earlier this week our Nepalese trekking and climbing staff completed two days of Mountain Medicine training, with the Nepali doctors who help support our teams once they are in the field. Here are a few snaps from the course. Our first expedition arrives in Kathmandu in less than two weeks! We're all looking forward to the Autumn season!

We have a team travelling to Tanzania this weekend to climb Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro with leader, Robert Anderson. Robert has been leading trips for Jagged Globe for 25 years this month - in September 1999 he led a team to the summit of Shishapangma in Tibet (the world's 14th highest mountain). Together with our superb Tanzanian guides and staff, we wish Robert and the group the best for a successful climb.
