Welcome to "Behind The Scenes at Shady Hall Farm!

We are always showing you the glossy final product but we thought on Fridays we would show you what we've been up to to get to that shining end product!!

So that stunning mug in the photos is me, Chloë putting on some of my various working caps throughout the week and getting some important behind the scenes jobs sorted!

-pressure washing all the outside areas (cold, miserable, muddy, but everything is looking a lot prettier now!)
-repainting a small repair we needed in one of the barns (and repainting it again because I used the wrong white at first!)
-updating our website, creating a new profile for guests to find us online, responding to emails, and making social media content (my eyes are often burning by the end of the day!)
-putting the room back together again after painting and giving myself violent static shocks from the bedding
-making videos of everything I do to then use for our socials

A busy but non-standard week here before we welcome guests back next week for our first stays in 2025 🫶🏻

It's hard to believe all this gorgeous green scenery is just 20 minutes away from Sheffield city centre but we're here to tell you, it is!

You can't help but leave your worries at the door (or maybe the bottom of our drive as soon as you pull in for your weekend away!) with all this lush countryside surrounding you

Every season brings a new perspective and the colder months like now make for some spectacular sunsets and crisp walks over frosty ground

The snow and ice has kept us in for a whole week so it's time for another walk that's been sat in drafts for some time!!

This walk starts right from the front door for our guests and as usual, it's all downhill to start and then the reverse coming back (the joys of living in a valley!)

There's a perfect pub pit stop in the middle at The Bridge Inn, ideal for you to wet your whistle and crunch some pub snacks, or sit and enjoy something more substantial from the menu!

There's plenty of opportunities for canine companions to run and play and the walk is very well signposted bar a little woodland excursion early on, but don't worry, you can't get lost!!

You asked, we listened!!

We are always adding, rejigging, and beautifying our spaces to keep our barns as gorgeous as ever, and when we recently got the opportunity to give a family piece a new home, we knew just where it should go.

We heard your feedback about some lower mirrors in The Stone Barn and we really didn't know where we could fit them to start with...but this dressing table fitted perfectly in our ground floor bedroom and with some new accessories, we think it looks fantastic!

We love this time of year!!! The barns are just extra cosy at night, with a roaring fire and nothing but fairy lights twinkling in the corner, whilst you watch a Christmas film or giggle over some games...*insert relaxed sigh here*

There's no such thing as a silly question and we are happy to answer them all!!!

We really loved this wonderful feedback from our recent guests, and we are extra pleased as punch that not only were all our human visitors happy, but our canine ones too 🥰

As dog owners ourselves, we know how extra special it can be to take the WHOLE family away with you, which is why we've done our best to make our 2 dog friendly barns exactly what they say on the tin: DOG FRIENDLY!

Gorgeous feedback from our wintery, weekend guests who hired all 3 barns for a family get together!

Despite the icy conditions being swiftly followed by a storm, our farm is the most idyllic backdrop for bunkering down and keeping cosy so the weather didn't dampen the mood at all 💗

Powdery and terrible for snowballs but oh so pretty isn't it?

Harvey is absolutely loving running riot through the fields and we are just loving the view 😍

Autumn evenings really do produce the most magical colours, modelled here with our gorgoeus boy, Harvey✨️

I think my camera roll is absolutely full to bursting with sunset photos!! I just can't get enough and we have the perfect view of them from the farm 📸

Every day we see more and more of those beautiful autumn colours taking over the farm, it makes me so sad that the recent storm blew a few trees bare prematurely but there's still plenty left to enjoy whilst on a relaxing afternoon jaunt!

Exploring the autumnal countryside at the farm is one of our favourite ways to spend a sunny afternoon!

Rambling through crunchy leaves, squinting in the sun, splashing through muddy puddles, before retreating to one of our cosy barns for a hot drink, a relax by the fire, and perhaps a soak in the hot tub as the sun sets.
