You asked, we listened!!

We are always adding, rejigging, and beautifying our spaces to keep our barns as gorgeous as ever, and when we recently got the opportunity to give a family piece a new home, we knew just where it should go.

We heard your feedback about some lower mirrors in The Stone Barn and we really didn't know where we could fit them to start with...but this dressing table fitted perfectly in our ground floor bedroom and with some new accessories, we think it looks fantastic!

We love this time of year!!! The barns are just extra cosy at night, with a roaring fire and nothing but fairy lights twinkling in the corner, whilst you watch a Christmas film or giggle over some games...*insert relaxed sigh here*

We really loved this wonderful feedback from our recent guests, and we are extra pleased as punch that not only were all our human visitors happy, but our canine ones too 🥰

Gorgeous feedback from our wintery, weekend guests who hired all 3 barns for a family get together!

Despite the icy conditions being swiftly followed by a storm, our farm is the most idyllic backdrop for bunkering down and keeping cosy so the weather didn't dampen the mood at all 💗

I think my camera roll is absolutely full to bursting with sunset photos!! I just can't get enough and we have the perfect view of them from the farm 📸

Every day we see more and more of those beautiful autumn colours taking over the farm, it makes me so sad that the recent storm blew a few trees bare prematurely but there's still plenty left to enjoy whilst on a relaxing afternoon jaunt!

Exploring the autumnal countryside at the farm is one of our favourite ways to spend a sunny afternoon!

Rambling through crunchy leaves, squinting in the sun, splashing through muddy puddles, before retreating to one of our cosy barns for a hot drink, a relax by the fire, and perhaps a soak in the hot tub as the sun sets.

Unsure where to spend your next UK getaway?

Had a small snipping incident when I was arranging flowers for our guests and sadly this one was beheaded (luckily there were 2 so they still got to enjoy how STUNNING this flower is!)

Holidaying in England in Autumn?? YES!!!

We know it's a bit terrible weather wise today, but Autumn is my favourite time of year and here's why:

☀️the lower sun makes for stunning sunrises and sunsets, lighting up both the inside/outside world in such a lovely way
🚶‍♀️it's not too hot or too cold Goldilocks so it's the perfect time to explore the countryside (the Peaks are STUNNING in autumn)
🍂Autumn colours, crunchy leaves, jumpers in the sunshine, hot chocolate to warm up, reading on the patio, muddy dogs, Sunday lunch at the local pub...I could go on
❄️Frosty mornings whilst cold are perfect for a hot tub dip! There's something extra special about watching the morning go by whilst you bubble away
🔥You can spoil yourself to a warm fire after a day enjoying nature! Maybe a glass of wine in hand, maybe playing board games whilst the log burner crackles away, maybe all snuggled up in pj's watching a film together, the choice is yours!

We're officially back open for business after a little post summer break...
By break we mean working up until the final hour getting this reno finished before our full house this weekend 🙈
We are SO chuffed with our bathroom makeover, it has been a passion project on the books for a WHILE so being able to get it all finished and looking so much better has been fantastic!

"The Comment Book"

There's something really special about a handwritten note that's just for you and we absolutely adore reading the lovely notes our guests leave in our barns 🫶🏻

For me, I think notes like these capture the moment right there and then, so much better than a typed up review can (don't get us wrong, we love these too!)

You're also leaving a little piece of you behind in our farm history as we keep all our filled books and would love to find some way of creatively displaying some in the future!

(Also, as someone with awful handwriting, I often open the book and find myself giving a little "ooh" and "ahh" over someone's stunning scrawl 🙈🙈)

Well hello, it's been a while!!! It's not quite officially Autumn just yet, but on the eve of our much needed "post summer shut down" next week, we thought we'd look back at what's kept us so busy...

The answer?

YOU!! We've welcomed so many new faces this summer and you've kept us superbly hard at work to make sure your stay at Shady Hall Farm is 5🌟

We cannot believe how many birthdays we've written cards out for, nor how many homemade scones have been baked in our kitchen!
