On 18th May students from Sheikh Hatab Memorial Nursery School went on an educational excursion funded by Edventure Travel. The day started with a visit to Abuku Nature reserve to learn about why areas are allocated to preserve and protect certain animals and plants of The Gambia. From here they went onto Lamin Lodge to learn about why the river Gambia plays an important role in tourism. Here everyone enjoyed drinks and lunch. The last stop was at the reptile farm in Kartong to learn about the important conservation work being done there. A huge thank you to Martin, company director of Edventure Travel who authorised the funding of this excursion. Whilst the children enjoyed their day trip Martin was on a second fundraiser for the Gunjur Project walking 100km ultra challenge. He walked with his colleague for over 24 hours. From the 700 people that took part in this event 32% withdrew. Martin said it’s the hardest toughest mental challenge he has done - big respect to him and Tom from ForcesFit Somerset.
