We may have limited availability today (Friday 30th August) as we have 3 more drivers attending wheelchair accessible vehicle training. This should enable us to perform more of this extremely popular service. We open 9am Tuesday 27th August. No schools this week so vehicles available all day. We are available for work in Shildon, Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe etc or anywhere else you require. This is the last week of school so we will be busy 2.30pm until 3.30pm, so book early if you want to travel during this busy time of day. We have a wheelchair accessible vehicle for sale but don't panic we have replaced it with a new vehicle. The new vehicle is larger and can carry 3 seated passengers plus one passenger travelling in a wheelchair.

This is one of our hackney carriage (taxi) vehicles. You can book or flag down one of these vehicles or hire one from a rank. You can find us at Asda in Bishop Auckland , Aycliffe taxi rank, or B&M in shildon.
All of our taxis have our name clearly displayed. All vehicles have the correct door stickers on the front doors and the taxi plate on the rear.
If it doesn't say A T TAXI on it then it is not one of our vehicles.

This is one of our private hire vehicles. It has door stickers on the front doors and also a plastic private hire licence plate attached to the rear. If you book a private hire vehicle in the County Durham area it should have these items clearly visible. All our private hire vehicles are also clearly marked with our name and number on them. If it doesn't say A T Private hire then it's not one of our vehicles.

Taxi or private hire? Do you know the difference? We are often asked what's the difference.

A private hire can only be pre booked. So call us on 01388 777369 to book a private hire.

A hackney carriage (taxi) can be pre booked or may be stood at a taxi rank where you can hire it. A taxi can also be hailed, just wave,stick out your arm or any other way to catch the drivers attention 🤔 and if they are not booked they can legally pull over wherever it is safe to do so.

You can not flag/hail a private hire vehicle.
