Sad news

Tragic news from the ARC rally this morning as the US MRCC calls off the search for 33-year-old Swedish sailor Dag Eresund, who went overboard in the early hours of yesterday morning from the Volvo 70 Ocean Breeze. Link to full report in comments below.

Our deepest sympathies to his loved ones, and our thoughts with all concerned in the rescue effort.

For any vessels in the region, the MRCC has requested that all vessels able, should amend course to pass through the search area and to keep a sharp lookout for any signs of a person in the water.

We're on the lookout for a new First Mate! ⚓

We are seeking an experienced and motivated First Mate to join our team on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our operations team and volunteers to deliver life-changing youth work voyages aboard our vessels, 72ft Alba Explorer and 70ft Alba Venturer.

They will play a key role in ensuring the safety and maintenance of our vessels, whilst delivering transformative experiences for young people from a range of backgrounds and circumstances.

The ideal candidate will also be motivated to support the Trust’s large volunteer base, without whom our work would not be possible!
