Is the Boat House Lodge close to other holiday properties?
No, the Lodge is a standalone property and the only holiday property on the grounds. The Boat House is our house which is also on the grounds. We’re close enough to help and be available if you need us, but we respect your privacy and leave you to relax in the beautiful surroundings 😊

Our kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, hob, electric oven, microwave, and even a dishwasher to save you having to wash up. Our fruit trees and mini allotment are going to be bursting with delicious home grown produce over the summer months.

What will you rustle up in the kitchen? We’ve got apricots, eating apples, plums, cooking apples, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, Swiss chard, spinach, garlic, potatoes, onions, Brocolli and peas 🫛 🥦🍎🍓🫐
If you ever see Randall out in the garden, you’re bound to see Harry not far away 🐈⬛
When visiting the vets with our dog, we learnt about Harry’s tough start to life and just had to bring him home with us ❤️ Ever since Harry has been like Randall’s shadow and you’ll often see him on his shoulders whilst doing the gardening!
When you drive through our little village, Wroxeter you’ll come across the beautiful St Andrew’s Saxon Church.
Our gated driveway is directly opposite the church. On arrival we’ll buzz you in, and once checked in you’ll have your own key fob for the gate so you can come and go as you please 🙂

Enjoy Wroxeter and Atcham 🌳
The Boat House Lodge is just down the road from ’s Wroxeter Roman City and we’ve even found Roman and Medieval pottery in our garden!
2000 years ago Wroxeter (or Viriconium as it was known then) was the fourth largest Roman city. At the Roman City you can visit the remains of the bath house and explore a reconstructed town house.
Wroxeter also has its own vineyard – – which offers tours and lunch packages 🍷 🍽️
The National Trust’s is 2.8 miles away (approx 7 minute drive) from the Lodge. It’s a beautiful 18th century Regency house with 200 acres of parkland. There are a number of walking routes in the grounds, a deer park and a good cafe 🥾 🦌 ☕️
Not forgetting all the beautiful countryside walks that surround the Boat House Lodge, there’s plenty to keep you as busy during your stay ☺️
Stunning Views
The Boat House Lodge was designed with the scenery and views as the focal point. Our huge floor to (almost) ceiling window looks out over the garden, River Severn and fields beyond. You won’t even need to turn the TV on when you can sit and watch the world go by 💭🌳
Yesterday Jude and Randall from Boat House Lodge popped in with some surplus Jam and cereal, perfect for us to send out to our groups running breakfast clubs!

Do I need to bring towels or bedding for my stay?
No, we’ve got that covered. Our towels are nice and fluffy 🧖🏼♀️ The bed is super king and our bedding is smooth and silky 300 thread count, 100% cotton so that you get a great night’s sleep 🛏️😴

Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire and well worth a visit. It’s just 6 miles or a 15 minute drive from the Lodge.
Explore the Medieval streets, indulge in some retail therapy and take a look around the multi-award winning where there are more than 50 independent traders.
You can also take in the sights from the river with a 45 minute cruise on the (open between March and October) or visit , the world’s second most haunted jail. They offer ghost tours, prison break experiences and escape rooms.
Shrewsbury also hosts a number of annual festivals. There are Shrewsbury Food Festival in Quarry Park in June, in Quarry Park in August and at the West Mids Showground in August.
The town’s theatre, .severn, has something for everyone, from West End musicals and stand up comedians to Shakespeare and tribute acts. There are also two cinemas – Cineworld and independent .

Are you a keen angler? 🎣
If you hold a valid fishing licence, you’re welcome to fish in the River Severn at the bottom of our garden 🏡
In this stretch of the river there’s barbel, chub, roach, dace, bream and large pike 🐟 We’ve also known salmon to be caught here!
If you fancy a change of scenery, we have an agreement with Lymm Angling Club so you can fish from their longer stretch of riverbank. It’s just a 2-3 minute drive from the Lodge.
There’s even a garage underneath the lodge for you to store all of your fishing gear securely.
