The Weir portage is one of the awkward points on the river but was made more so when it was completely closed off due to a Sink hole that a appeared earlier this year by the Weir
Well it’s finally been filled allowing for portage of the weir once again

👍 The towpath at the weir in Shrewsbury is now OPEN after Severn Trent completed repair work at the site.

👷 Back in March a council vehicle fell into a sinkhole at the site, leading to the path being closed while the vehicle was removed and subsequent repairs carried out.

🌧️ Rain shouldn’t never spoil your trip if you’re properly attired for it, the benefits of a good waterproof coat & trousers can never be overlooked, However choice of headwear are completely down to your own personal preferences!
