With the unpredicatability of our weather, the chances are that some of us will face rain during our holidays. Camping in the rain, especially with children, doesn’t have to be soul destroying. If you take a leaf out of the Scouts’ book to ‘be prepared’ and follow the top tips in our latest guide, rain doesn’t have to put a dampener on your holiday.

Way back Wednesday showing Ingoldmells village centre circa 1950s with Central Garage buildings (now occupied by ourselves & Tesco Express) evident, alongside the now long gone bus shelter.

(We have no qualms with this being shared, but please do so from our post and not as an original photo. We have had a few pictures of old Ingoldmells posted on other pages that were actually not postcards but family photographs. Thanks 😊)

There’s a wonderful collection of photographs on display in our local church this weekend, with some lovely images of the Ingoldmells of yesteryear.

There is a special emphasis on the 1953 flood, with photographs and the written words of those who experienced it.

It’s well worth a visit for anyone interested in local history or for those who wish to reflect on and remember the victims of the 1953 disaster ♥️

Our Story

Our story begins in the 1950s with our Great-grandparents selling refreshments from a small snack bar to day trippers who were alighting from the buses that pulled into Ingoldmells village centre. In the 1960s and 1970s our parents worked hard to build on that business and were soon running a busy restaurant, newsagents and a petrol station and workshop. From selling just a few caravan accessories and spares from the forecourt shop, our retail premises and warehouse in Ingoldmells now holds one of the largest ranges of touring and static caravan spares in the country and from here we supply not only the general public but caravan maintenance engineers and caravan parks. Alongside the essential caravan items, we have a comprehensive range of tools and hardware products. We also offer a key cutting service.

Since 2012 we have had an outlet on Victoria Road, Mablethorpe, which we open from March to October. Although a smaller premises, we still offer a comprehensive range of spares and accessories and are more than happy to transport items from Ingoldmells to Mablethorpe, for those customers who can’t travel to our main shop.

Unusually for a seasonal seaside business, we do stay open throughout the winter at Ingoldmells. We like to think that it means we can provide local home-owners with the option to shop locally for their hardware, housewares and small appliance requirements and it also means we can offer year-round employment to our staff.

We look forward to seeing you in-store, or alternatively, visit our website; becingoldmells.co.uk, for all your caravan and hardware requirements, as well as special offers and new products.
