he cottage is mere steps from the village center, where you will find a grocery store, pubs, cafes, and shops, so everything you need will be at your fingertips. An added bonus is that several walking paths branch out from the village, either over the moors or along the River Wharfe. The incredible scenery of the surrounding area offers breathtaking drives and picnic options galore. Ivy Cottage sleeps 3 to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. This includes a king-size bed in the spacious master and a single plus a single trundle in the 2nd, smaller room. Please note that with the trundle deployed, the bedroom is usable for 2, but the space is tight. Like many of the cottages in Grassington, Ivy Cottage is an old miner's cottage, dating back from the 1700's. Be aware that as such, the stairs to the upper level are relatively steep. The quaint village of Grassington, which plays a starring role in the current version of All Creatures Great and Small, is wonderful any time of the year. Whether you prefer the quiet solitude of winter, lamb watching in spring, the wildflowers of summer, or the various festivals (the Arts Festival in June, the 1940’s Weekend in September, and the Dickensian Festival in December), you can expect a warm welcome. The village is well served with family run tea rooms, shops, pubs, and restaurants, all within 50 yards of the cottage.
