🔦 SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 5th October 🔦 The torchlight procession is heading back to Clitheroe in the Autumn. On this occasion, it will be a magical lantern walking procession to commemorate 50 years of Clitheroe Town Council. If, like me, you are incredibly youthful (😉) and can't understand how we've only had a council for 50 years, let me explain. It is 50 years since Clitheroe Borough Council was restructured to form Ribble Valley Borough Council and Clitheroe Town Council, and it seems fitting to bring back one of the town's most revered events from years gone by. The evening will raise funds for and the Ribble Valley Food Bank. Any community groups that are keen to take part are encouraged to email the Chamber of Trade using the address [email protected] 💚

The lodge at Horton hall is situated in the beautiful Ribble valley.

In the Ribble Valley entry, The Sunday Times states: “There’s a reason this hearty corner of Lancashire has previously been named both the happiest and the healthiest place in the UK. It has glorious countryside, excellent schools, community-minded locals and a well-deserved gourmet reputation, thanks to its local produce and stellar roster of gastropubs.”

The lodge is just 9 miles from skipton which also makes the 'best places' shortlist of 8 locations in Yorkshire and the North East.

The guide says of Skipton: "The 2014 Best Places to Live winner returns to the list, with this friendly market town providing families and active downsizers with everything they need for a happy life on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, including good pubs and restaurants, a smattering of culture and high-achieving schools."
