Birmingham's Public Art is available at bookshops including The Heath Bookshop in Kings Heath, Mac shop and RBSA Gallery shop, as well as national chains. It is not easy being a local publisher in today's retail market. High street bookshops are all under pressure and often buyers are based or advised by London consultants. Our books are hardly in Birmingham bookshops - so we have decided to open our own bookshop for Christmas!
We have taken a lease on a great space in the atmospheric Great Western Arcade in the city centre. We will post how we do here and on our new BlueSky account (trying to pack in the X/Twitter!!).

JFK died on this day in 1963 - I remember exactly where I was when the news came up on the Home Service - Radio 4 of today! On the floor playing while my Mum made the Christmas cake! We have an amazing mosaic by Oliver Budd in Digbeth in tribute to JFK. It dates from 2013 - being a replica of the one Oliver's Dad Kenneth originally produced. It is again badly vandalised - both with Graffiti and also metalwork bent and needs some TLC before it is lost forever. At present this is a very negative piece of public art in our city and an embarrassment to show to visitors. It used to be regularly cleaned but this appears to have stopped
