We are incredibly proud to be the only college in the North-East to win Gold in the Beauty Therapy Practitioner category at the WorldSkills UK National Finals! 🎉

In addition to the Gold, one of our students received a 'Highly Commended' recognition, and another was shortlisted among the top 8 in the country! These remarkable achievements highlight the exceptional training and support our students receive here at college.

Next month, Beauty student Neve Dun will take the next step in her journey by participating in a three-day intensive training programme, with the most promising candidate going on to represent the UK in the WorldSkills Final in Shanghai in 2026. 🌟

Before Christmas, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from St Aidan's Catholic Academy to South Tyneside College! 🎉

The students explored our workshops, where our expert staff demonstrated how to use lathes, helping them with their BTEC projects. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to get hands-on experience and gain insights into the skills they’re learning.

We’ve partnered with Ford Aerospace Academy to offer a pre-apprenticeship program, helping young people develop engineering skills and gain valuable work experience, all while earning a nationally recognised qualification. ✅

Recently, Ford representatives visited our first intake and judged a logo competition where students designed a logo using a CNC machine and 3D CAD software. Congrats to Dylan for winning, and well done to Ethan, Luke, and Lewis; our runner-ups!

Our Level 2 Manufacturing students also got the chance to ask about their future careers and get their new KIT in collaboration with Ford. 👕
