Podium finish achieved. 🏅
All in a Southerly 420! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud of Off the Grid and her crew who finished third-in-class at the 2024 ARC Atlantic Rally for Cruisers this weekend, sailing from Gran Canaria to St Lucia.

Southerly’s very own Gunnar Christensen was on board for the full 20-day crossing and had a fantastic time with fellow Southerly enthusiasts.

This achievement is a testament to not only the versatility and agility of the 420 but also the strong community built around Southerly Yachts.

We look forward to seeing Southerlys all around the world continue to compete in sailing events - if you have one planned, be sure to let us know.

Spotted in the wild: a Southerly demonstrating its lifting keel at St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall!

For generations, our yachts have earned the reputation of excellent shallow-draft cruisers, thanks to their ironic lifting keel technology which can reduce the yacht’s draft to as little as 3 feet.

As a result, Southerlys such as the one in this photo have the true ability to ‘take the ground’ - where they are beached on purpose to allow closer reach to the shore.
