Visit us and become a member of our Community Pantry to help reduce food waste and save money. Round About Café is a community facility for the people of Mansbridge. You can drop in for a cappuccino, a sandwich or some lovely cake! You can use the laptops and free WiFi or just come and relax with a book. We also provide training opportunities as well as community activities - have a look at our 'W

hat's on' page on our website to what we've got planned! We are always looking for volunteers so if you can spare a few hours a week or month, get in contact!

🚶‍♂️🎉 This Movember, we're celebrating the power of conversation and connection, and we want you to meet Geoff – one of our wonderful regulars! 💬

Movember is all about getting men talking, and Geoff always has the best stories to share. From his childhood memories to his time spent caravanning with his late wife, Geoff’s stories are full of love, adventure, and even a few dancing awards! 💃🕺🚐

Geoff told us: "The most important thing to me is that I always get a happy reception from staff, volunteers, and customers. I always get help when I need it, and it makes my day." 🌟

We’re so grateful for Geoff and the many conversations we get to have here at the cafe. Let’s keep talking and supporting each other! 💙

🎤🎶 Happy International Men's Day! 🎶🎤

At Round About Cafe, we proudly support the men in our community by offering a space to connect, grow, and improve health and wellbeing through a variety of activities and events. Today, we're celebrating James, one of our amazing volunteers and regular customers, who truly embodies the power of music in bringing people together.

James loves to sing and is a member of both our Mansbridge Melody Makers and Junk Orchestra music groups. It was actually James’ idea to start the singing group, and he tells us:
“I love to sing as it makes me happy. If I’m having a bad day, I’ll get a song in my head and start singing it, and it makes me feel better. It’s a bit of a laugh and we also have a chat as well as singing. I enjoy meeting new people, and the group’s helped with this. I’ve also taken part in Junk Orchestra where we made music using rubbish, pots and pans, and broken things. It’s given me more confidence in making music, and now I’ve bought two guitars and I’m teaching myself to play them! Some of the Melody Makers have even gone to karaoke nights together and sang! My record is singing eight times in one night!” 🎸🎤

🥁 Junk Orchestra is on Thursdays, 5-6:30pm
Both groups are run in partnership with SoCo Music Project, who also host other music and songwriting sessions around Southampton.

🌟 Movember Spotlight: Mike’s Story 🌟

This Movember, we’re raising awareness for men’s mental health, and today we’re hearing from Mike, one of our regulars! 👋 Mike’s part of our café community, and when he’s not enjoying our cookery courses, storytelling sessions, or Mental Health Awareness Training, you’ll find him at his allotment in Mansbridge. 🌱

Here’s why Mike loves visiting us:

“I like coming to the café to meet people and have a chat. I often meet up with friends here—it’s close to home, has a great atmosphere, and fantastic food and drinks. I’m a big fan of stopping to talk to other people while enjoying my cappuccino. Being teetotal, it’s a great alternative to going to the pub!” ☕️✨
