The Mermaid Group is a Specialist agency dedicated to placing candidates with concessionaires operating aboard the main cruise lines. Concessionaires are not part of the shipping line that they operate their business on, rather they are separate businesses that rent space aboard the vessels and pay the cruise lines rent, plus a percentage of their profits. Candidates will be employed by these businesses and not the cruise line itself. The main industry Concessionaires that the Mermaid group recruit for include Kitchen and provisions, photography, retail, beauty salon, fitness instructors, art auctioneers and entertainment.

Since 2000, major cruise lines have launched 80 new cruise ships and there are currently 40 cruise ships being built or on order for deliveries through 2012. There are currently 358,411 people working on cruise ships many of these on short contracts so we are always looking for new candidates.
