Heathrow have announced they able to restart flights , prioritising repatriation and relocation of aircraft

Please do not travel to the airport unless you have been advised to do so.
They hope to run a full operation tomorrow ( Saturday ) and will provide further information shortly

Due to a nearby fire, Heathrow Airport will remain closed until at least 23:59 tonight. We understand how disappointing this is for many of our clients with travel plans.

-Our experts have already contacted all affected clients due to travel and will be available to advise on alternative arrangements and any other concerns.
-We will provide updates as soon as we receive them.
-Please do not travel to the airport until further notice, in line with Heathrow’s official advice.

UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)

▪️What is the UK GHIC?
The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) allows you to access necessary state healthcare in the European Economic Area (EEA) and certain other countries. You’ll receive treatment on the same terms as a local resident, which may be free or require a payment similar to what they would pay.

▪️Has the GHIC replaced the EHIC?
Yes, the UK GHIC has replaced the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). However, if you still have a valid EHIC, you can continue using it until it expires. Once it does, you’ll need to apply for a UK GHIC.

▪️When can I apply for a UK GHIC?
You can apply for a new card up to nine months before your current EHIC or GHIC expires.

▪️How long does a UK GHIC last, and is it free?
A UK GHIC is free of charge and remains valid for up to five years.

▪️Where should I apply for a UK GHIC?
You should apply through the official NHS website . Be cautious of unofficial websites that may charge you a fee to apply.

▪️Can I still get a UK EHIC?
If you have rights under the Withdrawal Agreement, you can choose to apply for a new UK EHIC instead of a GHIC.

▪️Does the UK GHIC replace travel insurance?
No, the UK GHIC is not a substitute for travel insurance. It is strongly recommended to have private travel and medical insurance for the duration of your trip.
