1) Leigh On Sea to Southend Pier, Mulberry Harbour, Two Tree Island & Leigh Marina:

This trip gives you a chance to spot seals off the longest pleasure pier in the world at 1.34 miles into the Thames Estuary. The original wooden Pier was built in 1829 and replaced by the iron structure in 1889. You will also get to see the Mulberry Harbour (phoenix unit) which dates back to WW2 which were temporary portable harbours developed for rapid unloading of cargo onto beaches during the Normandy invasion in 1944. Two Tree Island is a great place to spot wildlife & numerous birds along the fantastic nature reserve so bring your camera! Leigh Marina which was called Johnson and Jago Boatyard in 1978 is situated in the quaint fishing village of Leigh On Sea, Essex, along the coast from Southend On Sea. Also in close proximity to the marina, is Two Tree Island which is part of the National Nature Reserve, a 640 acre island noted for its outstanding beauty and varied wildlife. Duration: 2 hours

2) Leigh On Sea to SS Richard Montgomery Ship in Kent (Including: Southend Pier & Mulberry Harbour):

Get up close and personal (but not too close!) to the SS Richard Montgomery shipwreck which dates back to 1944. The 1,400-ton time bomb. Loaded with enough explosives to level a town, this is the Second World War ticking time bomb ship that lies on the seabed just off the coast of Kent. View this amazing sight from outside of the exclusion zones, it's not to be missed! Duration: 3 hours

3) Leigh On Sea to Red Sands Maunsell Forts (Including: Southend Pier, Mulberry Harbour, Shoebury Boom before crossing the shipping channel towards the Isle Of Sheppey then onto SS Richard Montgomery Ship in Sheerness):

Take a cruise from Leigh On Sea to the Eerie World War 2 Maunsell forts, called the Red Sand Towers. These Historic monuments stand in the Thames Estuary some 9 miles from Southend shoreline and 5 Miles from Whitstable. It will take approximately an hour & half to reach the Towers. Transport yourself back to the Second World War by visiting these previously armed towers built in the Thames & Mersey Estuaries to help defend the United Kingdom. They are a pretty surreal sight. 4) Leigh On Sea to London Tower Bridge (Including: Queen Elizabeth Bridge, Cutty Sark Ship, O2 Arena, Canary Wharf, HMS Belfast & London Bridge):

Cruise up the Thames Estuary past all of the popular sights to reach your destination of Tower Bridge. You have the option to get off and enjoy the rest of your day in London or head back with us to Leigh on Sea! Number 1 best & popular trip. Duration: 5-10 hours (all depends if you are coming back with us to Leigh On Sea)

Starfish: £850.00 (cost is for 6 passengers. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £120.00 per person)
Minimum hire charge of £850.00 applies.

* Please Note: This price includes both ways. If you decide to get off at London please tell us upon your booking & the cost is the same either way.

** There will also be an extra charge of £80.00 to drop off any passengers in London on one of the Thames Clippers piers & we only get 15 mins slots.

5) Leigh On Sea to Whitstable Kent (Including: Southend Pier, Mulberry Harbour, Shoebury Boom, Red Sands Maunsell Forts & Kentish Flats Offshore Wind Farms):

You will get to see most of the sights on our trips over to Whitstable. Perfect for people wanting to go for a long weekend away. Duration: 2 hours (each way)

* Please Note: There will also be an extra charge of £35.00 to drop off any passengers in Whitstable Kent on one of the pontoons & we only get 15 mins slots.

6) Sea Fishing Trips (Leigh On Sea & within the Thames Estuary):

Fancy your chances of catching some fish all year round? We offer full day (10 hours) fishing trips which are popular for the keen angler, or shorter 3 hour trips for first timers or those who simply do not wish to spend the whole day at sea. Great day out with your mates & family. Duration: 10 hours:

Option 1: (including rod hire & bait)
Starfish: £850.00 (cost is for 6 passengers. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £140.00 per person)
Minimum hire charge of £850.00 applies. Option 2: (boat hire only)
Starfish: £650.00 (cost is for 6 passengers. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £110.00 per person)
Minimum hire charge of £650.00 applies. Option 3:

Duration: 3 hours: (boat hire only)

Starfish: £500.00 (cost is for 6 passengers. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £85.00 per person)

*Rods can be hired for £25.00 per person. Bait can be arranged if requested at an extra charge.

7) Seal Trips (Off & around Southend Pier):

Home to harbor seals and Grey seals, the Thames Estuary is home to some of the friendliest and most charismatic seals and they are always very inquisitive around the boat. We cannot guarantee you will see the seals but we are seeing more and more of them lately! Duration: 2 hours

Starfish: £400.00 (cost is for 6 passengers. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £60.00 per person)

* Please note: These trips are not guaranteed to see the seals each time. Unfortunately we cannot control the nature of the sea. We will try our very best to find them.

8) Sunrise or Sunset Trips around The Thames Estuary:

Get the best view of the sunrise or sunset from out at sea, the coastline looks extra special at these times! These trips provide great photo opportunities against the red and orange skies! Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £60.00 per person)

9) Scattering Of Ashes in The Thames Estuary:

Take your loved ones on their final journey on the Thames Estuary onboard one of our boats. We offer a completely private service for these and tailor the trip to suit your needs. We have amazing spots where we can scatter your loved ones. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £60.00 per person)

10) Leigh On Sea to Benfleet Creek (Including: Two Tree Island):

A more inland trip for those who do not wish to venture out far to sea. This trip will involve calmer conditions and is great for spotting numerous birds and wildlife in the expansive nature reserve. You will also get a great view of Hadleigh marshes, the 13th century castle ruins & the sea wall from this trip! Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £60.00 per person)

11) Leigh On Sea to Queenborough Harbour (Including: Southend Pier):

Hop over to the North Kent shores, where the River Thames, Medway and Swale meet. Queenborough is a place overflowing with rich history, undiscovered stories, famous faces, friendly cafes, award-winning micro-pubs and mouth-watering local food and drink. Queenborough Harbour is more than just an ideal cruising base. Great for a quick pint & bite to eat then back to Essex. Add additional passengers up to 10 in total for £70.00 per person)

** There will also be an extra charge of £20.00 to drop off any passengers in Queenborough Harbour on one of the pontoons & we only get 3 hours maximum per stay but we can only stay for 1 hour as we have to get back for the tide in Leigh On Sea.

12) BROWNES EPIC FORTS TOUR: Leigh On Sea to Knock John Fort, Shivering Sands Forts, Red Sands Maunsell Forts (Including: Southend Pier, Mulberry Harbour, Shoebury Boom before crossing the shipping channel towards the Isle Of Sheppey then onto SS Richard Montgomery Ship in Sheerness):

Take a cruise from Leigh On Sea to the Eerie World War 2 Maunsell forts, called the Knock John Forts, Shivering Sands Forts & Red Sand Maunsell Forts/Towers. *Due to the significantly increased cost of fuel we have reluctantly introduced a fuel surcharge on all tickets which is included in the prices stated. Booking:

A non refundable 50% deposit is taken to secure booking & the outstanding balance is due 7 days prior to your trip. This is with an experienced captain/skipper & crew included on all trips. There is no option to 'self drive' the boat. Meeting Location:

Leigh On Sea Cockle Beach, Old Leigh, Essex (Nearest Postcode: SS9 2ER). Opposite No 1 Cockleshed Restaurant. Behind the Orange Cockle Boat Liberator.* SAFETY NOTICE: On the dock there will be a ladder to climb down to the boat. May not be suitable for those with reduced mobility and no wheelchair access. We are offering an afternoon Tea onboard the boat at £18.00 per person from Sara's Tea Garden in Old Leigh. Please contact us if you would like to arrange this. *Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. https://www.sarasteagardens.co.uk/

You can also bring your own but ALL food & drink must be consumed outside on deck & not in the wheelhouse. There are no cooking facilities onboard. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Lots of water is a good option to keep you hydrated at sea. Parking:

Available at Leigh On Sea long stay train station car park (behind the back of the main station entrance) or on Belton Way West/East. You can then walk down to us which is a 5-10 minute walk. Additional parking is also available outside the No1 Cockleshed restaurant in Old Leigh. Clothes:

Please bring appropriate clothing to suit the weather for your trip. Hats, sunglasses, sun cream, waterproofs, woolly hat, towel & change of clothes are all a good idea. The weather can change very quickly out at sea so please be prepared for all weather. We provide Guy Cotten waterproof jackets onboard if needed.

💥 This Saturday morning we had the pleasure of Dina and her family onboard Starfish to scatter her Grandad's ashes in the Thames Estuary⚱️💐.

The conditions were fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a better day with the sun beaming down on us all and no wind. We departed Leigh On Sea around 10:00hrs & headed out to Southend Pier where we went close to the pier & saw Dina's family who were also on the pier head so they could say hi & get a photo of us all. We then headed out to the south side to scatter the ashes as Dina's dad loved the coast & Leigh On Sea. On the way back we saw the views of Thorpe Bay, Southend, Westcliff & Chalkwell from the sea which the passengers loved.

We then headed back into Old Leigh to drop off our passengers safely so they could go and enjoy a nice meal along Southend seafront to celebrate his life as a family.

💥 Friday 10th August in the afternoon I took my nephew Reginald Browne who is 4 years old, brother Jack & Dad (Derrick🐊) out on Starfish to Southend Pier. The weather was nice but had a Southwest breeze which was a bit rough coming back in but they all loved it. .browne.529

Reg had a go of steering Starfish under full supervision & did so well. He loves going out on his Uncle Angus boat & is always the captain when aboard lol 🤣 🤣. As you can see from the hat 🧢. Well done mate.

Days like these are so important and precious to be around your family and for them to see what you get up to in your working life.

💥 Thursday 8th August we took 5 passengers out Sea Fishing onboard Starfish in the Thames Estuary with the weather being beautiful in the morning then a little overcast & a bit windy in the afternoon. But what a day it was with lots of different fish being caught.

We left Leigh On Sea at 04:30hrs & headed out by the West Middle Bouy. We dropped the anchor & the customers enjoyed some nice food & drinks while watching the sun come up & having a great day Sea Fishing with plenty of laughter. We then moved over to the Kent side to have a fish around before then headed over to Southend Pier leaving the estuary around 13:00hrs to head back into Leigh On Sea. All 5 of them thoroughly enjoyed themselves & we're all great company.

💥 This Sunday morning we had the pleasure of Liz and her family onboard Starfish to scatter her husbands ashes on the Thames Estuary⚱️💐.

The conditions were spot on and we couldn't have asked for a better day with the sun beaming down on us all and no wind. We departed Leigh On Sea around 11:00hrs & headed out to Southend Pier, onto the Mulberry Harbour then over to the Kent side to see SS Richard Montgomery Ship. We then headed back over to the North side to the pier head to scatter his ashes as he loved the coast & Leigh On Sea. On the way back we saw the views of Thorpe Bay, Southend, Westcliff & Chalkwell from the sea which the passengers loved.

We then headed back into Old Leigh to drop off our passengers safely for them to have a nice meal at the No 1 Cockleshed restaurant & drinks to celebrate his life as a family.

💥 This morning we had the pleasure of Chris & his lovely family out on Starfish which they absolutely loved being out on the Thames Estuary.

We left Leigh On Sea at 10:00hrs & were out on the Thames Estuary visiting Southend Pier, Mulburry Harbour, Red Sands Maunsell Forts & SS Richard Montgomery Ship. We safely arrived back in Leigh On Sea safety around 14:00hrs. It was an amazing trip with lots of sightseeing.

🔵These points of interest on the Thames Estuary are definitely worth a boat trip to & you can only get to them by boat as they are around deep water (except Mulberry Harbour which you can walk out to on low water but please be aware of the tide turning to come back in. Look at tide tables & weather to be sure).

We had north westley breezes which were a bit uncomfortable at times when crossing the shipping channel but with the sun beaming through & hazy conditions across the water it was all worth it. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves & got some fantastic footage & photos. A very successful 4 hour trip. Chris's family even had a quick drive of Starfish on the way home which they all absolutely loved & were great at keeping a course to steer 👏.

**TIDE TABLE FOR AUGUST 2024 IN SOUTHEND ON SEA 🌊⏰🛥️⛲⚓🛟**

Note: Tide times are always an approximation as tides and sea current strength are influenced by the prevailing weather conditions and Moon cycles (Spring and Neap tides).

Southend-on-Sea is a tidal flood plain. The tide retreats some 1+ mile offshore and comes back twice each day (approx every 12.5hrs from low tide to low tide), knowing tide times will ensure you are not caught out on the water.

Knowing how to find tide information is important if you are planning on visiting the coast whether for the beach with your family or planning to go out onto the water in a vessel or water craft (paddle boarding, kite surfing etc).

You can find tide information across a wide spectrum of platforms, including ‘apps’ for your phone which is the easiest way to access tide information at your fingertips or you can call up ’Southend tide times’ on your internet search engine which will provide the same information.

Tide times are also published at various points across the Southend seafront (outside Pier & Foreshore offices) and published in local papers.

💥 This morning we had the pleasure of Karen, her husband & Karen's friend onboard Starfish for a 2 hour private boat trip around the Thames Estuary & what a lovely day it was out there. ☀️😎

The conditions were good at sea with a little bit of a North Eastley breeze but the sun did eventually come out when we were on our way back into Old Leigh. Perfect day for a boat trip.

We departed Leigh On Sea around 09:30hrs & headed out towards the mulberry harbour just off Thorpe Bay then on the way back we passed the head of Southend Pier which is the longest pleasure pier in the world 🌍. Our last destination was Two Tree Island where we spotted lots of wildlife which the passengers loved. 🦆🪿

💥 Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips had a very busy weekend on Starfish with Scattering of ashes for 2 lovely families on both days.

During the afternoon of Sunday 27th & Saturday 28th July we had the pleasure of David and his family then Nilesh & his family onboard Starfish to scatter there loves one ashes on the Thames Estuary⚱️💐.

The conditions were spot on and we couldn't have asked for better days with the sun beaming down on us all and no wind for both trips. We departed Leigh On Sea & headed out to Southend Pier which is what the passengers requested. On the way back we saw the views of Thorpe Bay, Southend, Westcliff & Chalkwell from the sea which the passengers loved. It was great chatting to the families about their loved one 🙏.

We then headed back into Old Leigh to drop off our passengers safely after successful trips.

💥On Friday 26th July Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips took 10 artists out onto the Thames Estuary to paint points of interest which included: Red Sands Maunsell Forts, SS Richard Montgomery Ship, Mulburry Harbour & Southend Pier.

We left Leigh On Sea during the early hours of 04:30am to head out to sea. It was an amazing day, perfect conditions and something different for us to add to our boat trip list. What a great idea it was Thank you 🙏💡.

All 10 passengers absolutely loved the experience & the paintings were outstanding I must admit. It was so therapeutic watching them paint all day & speaking to each person individually & asking them about their painting careers. We then returned around 15:00hrs safely for the group to go to the Peter boat pub for some well earned food & drink.

💥Sunday 21st July we took Nabindra & his family out Sea Fishing onboard Starfish in the Thames Estuary with the weather & wind being kind to us. We had lots of different fish caught which they all absolutely loved.

We left Leigh On Sea at 10:30am & headed out by Southend Pier. We dropped the anchor & everyone enjoyed some nice food & drinks while having a great couple of hours Sea Fishing with plenty of learning going on. We then left the estuary around 13:30hrs to head back to Leigh On Sea. All 9 of them thoroughly enjoyed themselves & we're all great company.

💥 Sunday 14th July we took 9 men out Sea Fishing onboard Starfish in the Thames Estuary with the weather being beautiful in the morning then a little overcast & a bit windy in the afternoon. But what a day it was with lots of different fish being caught.

We left Leigh On Sea at 06:30hrs & headed out by the SS Richard Montgomery Ship on the Kent side. We dropped the anchor & the lads enjoyed some nice food & drinks while having a great day Sea Fishing with plenty of laughter. We then moved over to the North/Essex side to have a fish around before leaving the estuary around 16:00hrs to head back into Leigh On Sea for the blokes to get home to watch the Euros 2024 final which England was playing in. All 9 of them thoroughly enjoyed themselves & we're all great company.

💥 During the afternoon of Friday 12th July we had the pleasure of Mala and her lovely family onboard Starfish to scatter her Dad's ashes on the Thames Estuary⚱️💐.

The conditions were good but a bit cloudy and a little bit of wind. We departed Leigh On Sea around 15:00hrs & headed out to Southend Pier to scatter his ashes by the Leigh Buoy. On the way back we saw the views of Southend, Westcliff & Chalkwell from the sea which the passengers loved.

We then headed back into Old Leigh to drop off our passengers safely for them to have a nice meal at the No 1 Cockleshed Restaurant & drinks to celebrate their Dad's life as a family.

💥 This morning we had the pleasure of Chris & his lovely family out on Starfish which they absolutely loved being out on the Thames Estuary. We left Leigh On Sea at 10:00hrs & were out on the Thames Estuary visiting Southend Pier, Mulburry Harbour, Red Sands Maunsell Forts & SS Richard Montgomery Ship. We safely arrived back in Leigh On Sea safety around 14:00hrs. It was an amazing trip with lots of sightseeing. 🔵These points of interest on the Thames Estuary are definitely worth a boat trip to & you can only get to them by boat as they are around deep water (except Mulberry Harbour which you can walk out to on low water but please be aware of the tide turning to come back in. Look at tide tables & weather to be sure). We had north westley breezes which were a bit uncomfortable at times when crossing the shipping channel but with the sun beaming through & hazy conditions across the water it was all worth it. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves & got some fantastic footage & photos. A very successful 4 hour trip. Chris's family even had a quick drive of Starfish on the way home which they all absolutely loved & were great at keeping a course to steer 👏. Big thank you guys & hope to see you onboard again soon. 💥On Friday 26th July Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips took 10 artists out onto the Thames Estuary to paint points of interest which included: Red Sands Maunsell Forts, SS Richard Montgomery Ship, Mulburry Harbour & Southend Pier. We left Leigh On Sea during the early hours of 04:30am to head out to sea. It was an amazing day, perfect conditions and something different for us to add to our boat trip list. What a great idea it was @andydownesart Thank you 🙏💡. All 10 passengers absolutely loved the experience & the paintings were outstanding I must admit. It was so therapeutic watching them paint all day & speaking to each person individually & asking them about their painting careers. We then returned around 15:00hrs safely for the group to go to the Peter boat pub for some well earned food & drink. Thank you once again guys for coming onboard Starfish & what a day it was. 💥 Yesterday evening we had the pleasure of Elizabeth's family to celebrate her husband's 60th birthday onboard Starfish for a 2 hour private boat trip around the Thames Estuary & what a change in weather it was. They had a fantastic meal beforehand in the @no1_cockleshed then boarded the boat. @mfkatesmark The conditions were not great with a south westley breeze & some rain so I changed the route to Benfleet creek & two tree island where we were very sheltered & out of the deep water where the conditions were a bit worse. The kids absolutely loved getting wet & had lots of fun onboard which was great to see. The original plan was to go to Southend Pier & Mulburry Harbour but safety comes first at Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips. We departed Leigh On Sea around 17:30hrs & headed out towards the Ray Gut then turned towards Canvey point & on our way to Benfleet creek where the passengers saw lots of yachts, motorboats, Hadleigh castle, wildlife and had a couple of glasses of bubbly & beers to celebrate. 🍺🍻🍾🥂 We then headed back into Leigh on Sea around 18:30hrs to drop off our passengers safely. The final miles are here, only 3 (and a third) miles left to go! The final run of the challenge is quickly arriving which will be on the 31st of May at 5pm. Joining me on today's run were the awesome Dynamic Duo, Thomas Ager-Lowden & Angus Browne. Both kept the pace up and helped push me through the mile! The sea was like a mill pond with no waves at all. Perfect day for a boat trip. We departed Leigh On Sea around 09:30hrs & headed out towards the mulberry harbour just off Thorpe Bay then on the way back we passed the head of Southend Pier which is the longest pleasure pier in the world 🌍. This Sunday morning Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips were tasked to London Gateway (DP World) to assist the lifting in of a Racing Yacht that had travelled from Sydney in Australia. We departed Leigh On Sea at 08:30am & arrived on site at 10:00am with Ship Majestic on our horizon which was a fantastic view. The whole job was a great success with the crew boarding the ship & onto Starfish very safely. Everything went smoothly & all health & safety procedures were in place. 💥Yesterday afternoon we had an open shared boat trip onboard Starfish (31ft Mitchell) and what a superb trip it was for everyone. We could not have asked for better conditions. It was stunning out on the Thames Estuary & our first trip to the Red Sands Maunsell Forts in 2024. Many more are booked in 👍🙏 We left Leigh On Sea at 12:30hrs and went past Southend Pier, Mulberry Harbour, (by Thorpe Bay) Shoebury Boom, Red Sands Maunsell Forts (by Whitstable) all on the North side then onto our final destination along the South side to SS Richard Montgomery Ship in Kent which has 1400 tonnes of ammunition down below in the ship. We arrived back at Leigh On Sea around 16:30hrs. It was perfect with calm & stunning conditions which all helped massively! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves & got some fantastic footage & photos. A very successful 4 hour trip. This just goes to show that it doesn't have to be summer for a great boat trip!
