Oxton Hill Hideaway shepherds huts, Nottinghamshire Welcome to our lovely holiday huts and touring caravan/motorhome site Oxton Hill Hideaway has two stunning self catering shepherds huts based on a working farm.

Additionally on the farm there is a Caravan and Motorhome Club certificated location site for touring caravans and motorhomes. Based on a working farm with stunning countryside and lots of space is close to the historic town of Southwell. Guests enjoy visiting Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines, Southwell, Nottingham and Newark on Trent which are all nearby.

We hope you all have had a lovely Christmas. Today it was time for a leg stretch with the dog so we had a foggy, misty walk to and from the Oxton bogs. It’s a pleasant undulating walk from Oxton village across the parkland field then along Oxton estate tracks so not too muddy. 🐾🌫️

Lovely cycle ride on a sunny Sunday along the River Trent to have a look at the newly opened fish pass at Colwick which now enables migratory fish to swim upstream and downstream more easily🐠

There are excellent allweather tracks and paths along the river directly into Nottingham City Centre so ideal for cyclists and walkers. 🚲🚶

When visiting our lovely huts why not bring your wellies and explore the multiple footpaths in the area. A favourite short walk is one to Hollybeck garden centre that offers a yummy breakfast or lunch. 🍳☕️🥚

Turn left out of the farm drive, look for the left bridle path (yellow signposts) and stroll along fields and tree lined paths to the centre. Don’t forget it’s dog friendly too 🌳 🐕🥾

Oxton Hill Hideaway Shepherds Hut and Oxton Hill Hideaway Paddock View Shepherds Hut

Offering two fully furnished huts comprising of kitchenette, double bed, bathroom and private gardens guests will enjoy the amazing countryside our farm can offer. With its own log fired stove keeping it warm the hut is open all year round too. All bedding and towels are provided as are coffee, tea, biscuits and porridge/granola breakfast cereal. For home catering a gas BBQ and a microwave is provided plus either a small fridge or Igloo coolbox. Overflow fridges/freezers are also available.

Guests who require extra space for relatives can book a furnished bell tent which will be pitched adjacent to the hut. (These are only available with an associated hut booking).

Guests can fish on our carp lake, enjoy the local walks, bring their horses or mountain bike on our bridle paths which take you to the villages of Epperstone, Thurgarton and beyond. Perhaps visit the historic minster town of Southwell or just enjoy a quiet break away from it all. Pet friendly.

Dumble End farm is a working farm, primarily now used as an equine yard and as such boasts 75 acres of grassland for visitors to explore. Dogs are welcomed, cyclists and horse riders too or perhaps you just need a stopover whilst visiting the area. Guests with horses can use one of our paddocks for an overnight stay too.
