I don't cut back most plants after their summer shindig at home, their glitz and glamour continues until late winter/early spring 😄

Many of you know I also work as a Gardener alongside running Blue Barn. Today I had the pleasure of attending a study day at Great Dixter Gardens led by Head Gardener Fergus Garrett; it was a great, informative day and I look forward to utilising skills and knowledge gained at Blue Barn, home, and the gardens in which I work 💗

Whilst we don't serve breakfast at Blue Barn, the kitchen is fully equipped so you can whip up these apple and cinnamon pancakes for breakfast, using fresh free-range eggs from our hens that we leave for guests in there 😘

Orrrrr..... you could head out to a wonderful array of local eateries for breakfast, many within walking distance 🌅

Today we rounded up the sheeps, with our little helpers Finley and Daisy (nephew and niece, teaching them young)!

Everyone was wormed, health checked and had a pedicure.

The ewes were separated off as it is already that time of year again.... the shetland ram is coming next Wednesday 😄 - Vicozero Bielsa and he is a beauty 😍

Freedom. We are able to let the chickens out after 6 months of them being on 'lockdown' due to bird flu restrictions.

Come along me wee hearties 💗 We regularly rotate the sheep grazing to create more of a 'mob style grazing conservation effort' on the paddocks. This evening, it is the first rotation for the lambs and they were super! We've also had the email that we can let the poultry free-range again from 1st May as bird flu restrictions are being lifted - hurrah hurrah! I wish I could tell the girls and Little Jerry that it's not long now.... they've been in their pen since November 🥲. Whilst it's a lovely pen and they've had plenty of enrichment, it's not the same as pecking some fresh grass and scratting the earth.

I think these lambs want to be Olympic sprinters!? 🤷‍♀️🤣💗

The girls are back in lockdown due to Avian Flu; I try to keep life stimulating for them, they seem to always enjoy prcking at a cabbage 😁 🐔 Does anyone keep chickens too? Feel free to share your enrichment ideas 💡
