When you come and stay the Walled Gardens of Cambo Country House are so close by - with a cafe using the produce from the edible garden and a shop full of plants and crafts. Right next to where you will park your car 👌

Gorgeous weather for some maintenance at the HideAway at Cambo Country House!
First of all a strim under the fairy lights so everyone arriving in the dark can find their way. Then empty everything off the deck so that it can be washed and treated (thanks Serhii!) . Then a few paint touch ups thanks to Vitalijs Jermacans 🙏. The amazing Cambo team in action helping us look our best 🤩

🐾Plastics v's Pets 🐾

We know many of you love to take your pets on holiday. And we love that! We offer bowls, blankets, doggy towels and treats to help them feel at home.

As a brand all about sustainability and a brand that loves dogs we want to offer you AND your pet a detoxing stay in nature.

So, let's talk plastics - have you thought about the plastics in your pet's life and what it might be doing to them?

Toys, water bowls, food packaging, bedding, brushes, etc - are they made of harmful plastics that might be sneaking into your pet's system? Taking in tiny amount of plastics over a period of time can lead to infertility, intestinal problems, toxins and organ damage.

What can you do?
Stick to natural fibres for toys, can you find food that is in natural/non-plastic packaging? Try and find dog beds filled with natural fibres and use stainless steel food and water bowls.

At Off Grid Travel we felt we had to design and build our own accommodation to use throughout our business. We needed to know that the commitment to sustainability was as strong in the core elements of our buildings as it was throughout the rest of our business.

We looked into every detail of manufacturing and worked with the very best in the industry. Our cabins sit on stilts and be light, yet high quality and long lasting –this means they can be easily repurposed, moved and ultimately taken apart and recycled – so nothing ends up in landfill.

Our cabins are “zero carbon” – something that we are hugely proud of. We knew it would not be easy to achieve but we also knew that we had come together as a team at Off Grid Travel to change the landscape of nature tourism.

What you should feel when you enter one of our cabins – Hideaway or Bothy – is a sense of relaxed luxury that is inspiring, comforting and lets the outdoor in.

All of us at Off Grid Travel care about nature, the environment and its future. This is why our buildings are rated Carbon Zero and it’s why we put so much time and effort into our choices for the interior of every building (with the support of our Interiors Porfessional Sally, from MOJO Interiors and Homeware).

Wherever possible all our materials, fabrics and products are from a reliable source – either local to the location of the building, made by a small, independent company, or certified as sustainable and ethical.

Our pillows and duvets are one example - made in Scotland and produced using recycled plastic bottles. Typically 20 plastic bottles will produce enough fibres to make a 600g pillow and this saves approximately 85million bottles a year from going to landfill on pillows alone.

When you come and stay in our Bothy your have a private woodland plus this huge tipi. Just follow the path from the Bothy door and unzip it. You'll find a huge 7m high indoor/outdoor space with firepit, fairy lights, seating and all ready for evenings round the fire ⛺️🔥
