Situated at Staithes, near Whitby, these former World War 1 army barracks are in an idyllic position close to the countryside and sea. Four of the barracks have been ingeniously and tastefully transformed to provide good quality accommodation retaining much rustic character and charm. The remaining 3 lodges retain their near original condition as a visual reminder of their former function. Each refurbished lodge has the added advantage of parking and an outdoor sitting area. Situated just off the Cleveland Way, there are many fine moorland and cliff top walks as well as golf links nearby. There is a leisure centre 2 miles down the road and a 2-minute stroll down the cobbled street brings you to the centre of the picturesque fishing village with its small harbour nestling beneath rugged cliffs. Step back in time and walk the quaint narrow passages, as Captain James Cook himself must have done. Here in Staithes there are village shops, pubs, cafes and a restaurant.
