The September sun is out and there is lots to see and do at Beamish Museum. Our accommodation is only minutes away and we have some great prices, especially for mid week stays between now and the end of December.

NO MILK PLEASE 🦔🦔🦔… If you see me in your garden, I appreciate food (unsalted raw meat, such as minced meat, I also love cat food but not fish) and I need water. Please don’t give me milk that would cause stomach problems and I could die. Please don’t use insecticides or traps. I'm inoffensive and help in your garden because I feed on insects that attack your veggies. My species is disappearing, please help us to stay alive 😘

Join us for traditional harvest celebrations this weekend (Saturday, 30th September and Sunday, 1st October 2023.) We'll be exploring the significance of harvest time across our time periods at the museum.

🍞See the residents of 1820s Pockerley Old Hall prepare their harvest feast.

🥦At St. Helen’s church they have prepared a decorative harvest display.

🥕 With rationing in place at The 1940s Farm, find out how some clever cooking allowed folk to make the most of the limited ingredients available for their harvest celebrations.

🎶Plus, there’ll be traditional harvest displays in our Pit Village chapel, as well as a weekend of musical performances.
