Wow!

Got a tip off from one of the neighbours (thanks Maureen) this morning that a Kingfisher was on the river (our neighbourhood watch doesn't concern itself with burglars - more of a wildlife watch scheme :-) ). I quickly rushed over and managed to get one shot away before he flew off. He did pose nicely in the sun before taking flight so can't complain!

Just WOW!

It was a cold but beautiful cycle to work this morning. Stars were peppering the black sky while the Hunters Moon shone like a beacon. Up ahead I saw a crow land in the top of a tree and I thought 'that would make a great 'Halloweeny' shot if I could get it silhouetted against the moon'. I sped up to get everything in line, fully expecting the bird to fly off, which is what usually happens when trying something like this! but it stayed there and posed exactly how I hoped!

Spacious and beautiful Loch Dhu cottage is situated in the heart of the Trossachs about 7 miles from the busy village of Aberfoyle. With uninterrupted views of the stunning rural scenery and Loch Dhu itself, it really is a gem to be visited.Available to rent on a four day or weekly basis, the cottage is single storied with full central heating. It includes the following facilities:


  • a newly refurbished bright and spacious kitchen/dining/sofa area (including a dishwasher)

  • a lovely sitting room (with a multi-fuel burning stove) and a double sofa bed

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 bedroom with two single beds (the cottage is usually set up for four guests, but it may be possible to accommodate more guests by prior arrangement)
