Good Afternoon, I hope you're all enjoying the warmer weather 😂. This week has been incredibly difficult for all concerned due to the weather and the A555 closure (which has only this afternoon re-opened). This has meant that the weather related delays have been made much worse by the congestion caused by the A555 closure. I would like to thank parents and students for their patience and understanding this week. Your co-operation this week especially with service changes, is really appreciated. I am really proud of the team at Elite Services Ltd (Coaches) for delivering a service in what operationally, has been very challenging. The Drivers, Mechanics and Management Team have gone above and beyond to keep the students (and our vehicles) safe.

CH-E DELAYED - FRIDAY 10TH JANUARY

Good morning,

The vehicle allocated to CH-E is currently having some extra TLC this morning as it is struggling to defrost thoroughly. This means it will be running later than usual.
Our full team of engineers are currently working to get the vehicle fully warmed up. Anticipated delay time is approximately 10-15 minutes.
Please do remember to wait at your stop at the usual time. We will be there as fast as we can!

Friday 10th January Service Update AM & PM

Good morning everyone,

The last day of the school week is finally here! I do appreciate it’s been a difficult week all round and once again, I’d like to thank you for your patience, understanding and the lovely messages of thanks for the team. It’s been very appreciated by us all.

We are still facing challenges: some of the vehicles are colder on board as the vehicles work overtime to heat up a big engine and saloon. We have to go through quite an extensive defrosting exercise to get them going as they are not built for such low temperatures. The A555 is also still closed which is having a knock on affect with everything. We have faced some severe delayed arrivals at school as consequence. The schools are aware and are taking this into consideration – they too have staff caught with us on the roads.

On a brighter note, the service details for today (AM & PM) are as follows:

CH-A: Running in full

CH-B: Running in full

CH-C: Running in full

CH-D: Running in full (all pickups now back open)

CH-E: No mere pickup. All other stops running.

CH-G: Running in full (The Griffin and Stamford Road are now back open)

CH-Late: Running in full

Shuttle: Running in full

KA1/2, 3 and 4: School closed. No services.

CHS- Late Bus Service 09/01/2025

Good evening again,
Due to horrendous traffic and closure of the A555, the Late Bus is on course to be at least 30 minutes late.
We are so sorry about this delay - we're doing all we can to get there as soon as we can .

It's nearly Friday so only more day to get through before the weekend where hopefully the temperatures will rise!
We will be out again nice and early tomorrow morning (Friday 10th) assessing the roads and routes. Again, the same procedure will be in place where i'll send out an app notification, email and Facebook message to confirm plans.
Don't panic if you dont get the message dead on 0645hrs - i'll be about to hit send.

Good morning everyone,

It’s definitely a very cold one this morning!

We have been out on the roads again this morning risk assessing and I am pleased to say that there is slightly better news than yesterday!

The following will be in place for AM and PM today (Thursday 09/01/2025):

Routes CH-A, CH-B and CH-C will run in full as normal.

Route CH-D will be curtailed with pickups only at Alderley Edge Centre, Alderley Edge for Girls, Bank Square, Styal Road/Manchester Road, Bluebell Garage, and The Paddock.
To confirm, there will be NO PICKUPS FROM The Vets Place and Knutsford Road/Ashdene Road for safety.

Route CH-E will be curtailed with the same plans in place as yesterday – no pickup from Mere

Route CH-G will be curtailed with the same plans in place as yesterday – no pickup from The Griffin or Stamford Road/Heald Road but a replacement stop at Spring Bank Care Home on Ashley Road instead

Hulme Hall Shuttle Service will operate as normal

Knutsford Academy School is closed – no services required.

Dear Parents/Carers,

I would like to start by thanking you all for your patience and understanding this morning whilst we were out on the roads risk assessing whether we could run our services safely.

As the temperatures are expected to dip even lower this evening with no respite from the freezing temperatures during the day today, we will be out undertaking the same risk assessments in the morning.

Our aim is to update you on the services for tomorrow (09/01/2025) by 0645hrs via the app, Facebook and email. If you have not received anything through at 0645hrs, don’t worry – I’ll be about to press send. Please do not call the emergency line for an update – we do need to keep this line open for emergencies and it stops up from getting the information out to everyone.

If you have not already joined, please do join our Facebook group ‘Elite Services Home to School Ltd’ to keep up to date throughout the day alongside the app.

Good afternoon,
Further to the notifications and Facebook updates earlier today, i would like to confirm that the services will remain as they were this morning:

CH-D will not be running
CH-E will not drop off at Mere;
CH-G will not drop off at The Griffin or Stamford Road/Heald Road and will instead drop off opposite Spring Bank Care Home on Ashley Road
CH-Late will run but will not drop at Handforth or Bank Square.

School Service Update: 08/01/2025

Dear Parents/Carers,

Further to our communications last night, we have been out risk assessing all routes early this morning. As mentioned, the temperatures are still dropping at this point, and are expected to continue to do so in the upcoming days.

I have attached pictures to this message of the situations on the roads so you can see what we are facing.

Cancelled:

CH-D: The roads are not safe due to insufficient gritting and road preparations. Our driver was not able to make turns without skidding. Pictures attached.

All Knutsford Services due to school closure.

Curtailed:

CH-E: A number of roads are not accessible. The route will therefore pickup at the following stops ONLY: Langham Road/Park Road, Langham Rd/Vicarage Lane, Hale Train Station, Park Road shops, Park Road/Parkhill Road and Booths

Ch-G: As with E, a number of roads are not accessible for the coaches for safety. The route will therefore pick up at the following stops only: The Cenotaph, Altrincham Baptist Church, SPRING BANK CARE HOME ON ASHLEY ROAD, Calton Road and High Elm Road. THERE WILL BE NO PICK UP FROM THE GRIFFIN.

Running as Normal:

CH-A, CH-B and CH-C.

⛄⛄Important Notice ⛄⛄

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you may be aware, we are expecting the temperatures to drop to below freezing this evening and throughout the course of the week. Whilst this would not normally be an issue, frozen snow is likely to create more of an issue for our coaches on the roads. Our coaches have longer braking distances and may not be able to access the roads as easily as your car.

We will be risk assessing the roads early tomorrow morning. Each route will be risk assessed individually with staff being deployed across the various areas. This will happen before 0600hrs so that a decision can be made on whether the routes will operate and in what capacity. However, the temperature will still be decreasing at this time so we may have to make some amendments to our routes which may involve cancellations or curtailment. We then may find that these need to be revised when we collect the students.

Please note, that students who normally walk to their stop, should have access to a car in case of curtailment where they need to board at another pickup point different to their usual one. Please also note that the services will more than likely be severely delayed. Students should be dressed appropriately with a wait in mind.

We will be sending out updates from 0630hrs onwards via the app and our page (Elite Services Home to School Transport) so please do make sure you check your phones regularly for these updates coming through and that you use the vehicle tracker on the app as well. This will ensure our phone lines are kept clear for emergencies only.

Please bear in mind that the weather conditions outside your home may be different to the conditions in another part of the route.

I apologise for the late notice; your child’s safety is our primary concern.

KA1/2 Delayed AM 07/01/2025
Good morning again,
Please be aware that KA1/2 will also be late arriving into school this morning due to the congestion on the roads. The service is actually close by to the school, but is not expected to clear the traffic and arrive until 0910hrs. School have been informed.

The service picking up from Alderley Edge and Wilmslow is severely delayed due to the ongoing issues on the roads this morning. The ETA for arrival is now at 0915hrs. We have deployed another vehicle to see if we can get there sooner to get the children out of the cold and on there way.
We will notify the school as well of the situation.

The route CH-B is likely to be late departing school this evening due to a previous private hire over running from CHS. The anticipated departure time from school will be 1610-1615hrs.
