UIS Ltd will be demonstrating the UIS Click Stick at the upcoming WRc Innovation Day on 29 April 2015. UIS have developed the UIS Click Stick™ as an automated mechanical way of breaking redundant gas/water mains that avoids all the associated hazards of breaking by manual force using a hammer or podger bar. It allows for a safer, more controlled and compliant way to break cast iron pipes.

No-Dig Live 2014 - 12th biennial trenchless technology exhibition, outdoor demonstrations and seminars Peterborough Arena, 16-18 September 2014 New Venue for NO-DIG LIVE 2014

At No Dig Live 2014, we will be demonstrating the two newest products in our portfolio, the UIS Transmatic and the UIS Click^Stick.

The UIS Transmatic is the first coil trailer to fully incorporate pipe pushing technology. Designed to ensure a compliant and controlled dispensing operation of coiled P.E. pipes at all times it is capable of safely transporting coils of up to 500 metres in length. Whilst strong and robust enough to cope with site conditions it is also easily manoeuvrable. The addition of our Power Push Pipe Pusher allows the safe control of the coil dispensing process and insertion into the main host all in one operation.

We are delighted to be working with Balfour Beatty and PSS Hire to solve the problem of breaking out cast iron mains with a podger bar. The new lightweight and flexible UIS Click^Stick has been designed to be used with one of two options 1. Hydraulic pump (either hand or foot) 2. Battery powered power pack. These offer a far safer and more controlled alternative to the existing method of striking a metal pipe with a vertically mounted 14lb hammer and as a result reduce the risk of personal injury and manual handling issues.

UIS RE-COILER: The latest in a long line of innovations aimed for the utilities sector, UIS are proud to announce the UIS RE-COILER. Approved by Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions for use in their main headquarters for the North West Gas Alliance, the UIS Re-Coiler is designed to transfer sections of unused coiled pipes back onto a carousel, which then re-band’s the coiled pipe for future use. This groundbreaking innovation will help save on coiled pipe wastage massively. UIS CLICK/\STICK: UIS are delighted to be involved in developing the solution to the replacement of breaking out cast iron mains with a podger bar, in conjunction with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions and PSS Hire. Compared to other impact type equipment, the UIS CLICK/\STICK™ offers operatives a more safe and controlled alternative to that of the vertically mounted 14lb hammers. Offering safe handling of the product due to its lightweight structure, the operation of the product is done via the remote control unit, thus reducing the need to enter the excavation at any stage during the breakout process.
