I had the best time at the North West Invert show today… in my element! Purely there on pleasure and I may have just bought the CUTEST jumping spider. I’ve been looking into them for ages, but after handling this beauty from Spooder nest, I just had to.

We enjoyed the Wild and Deadly show too! Great to see so many enthusiasts!

I’ve seen some brilliant cakes over the years at our parties but this one stands out from the others - the attention to detail was just amazing. And this wasn’t made by a professional, just one of the birthday boys mums as a hobby!
The rest of the party food was equally as incredible too!

I asked an AI program to create some images of various animals at birthday parties. Obviously not species we keep (I don’t think some of them are actually real animals… one lizard had 6 legs!) but wanted to know everyone’s opinions. I’m trying to figure out how I can do something similar but with photos of our actual animals - would everyone enjoy seeing AI images like that, or not?
I mean, how cute is that jumping spider though?! 🥹

British Science Week is a 10 day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths running from 8th-17th March 2024.
There are many ways that our workshops can fit into this years theme of “Time”
Time is key to many discoveries in Science - Evolution looks at how plants and animals have adapted over generations and Life Cycles show how all living things start, grow….and die during their time on the planet.
Nocturnal or Diurnal? Learn as to why some animals prefer nighttime to daytime life.
