A sunshine tour of Blithfield is just what the doctor ordered this weekend! A gentle 50 miler from the front door will see you round this loop and back to the flat in time for a beer at Blythe Cricket Club round the corner, taking in a selection of beautiful villages along the way! Spot of the day was a big hare crossing a horse field just outside Stafford. One more job…light the BBQ!

Finally a dry day! The perfect chance for “himself” to give a me guided tour of some of the South Peaks climbing delights! A tough day in the saddle but worth it to be on top of the world. I wasn’t quite prepared for my brief experience of the Paris-Roubaix in Butterton, but the village’s peaceful beauty made up for it!

A fine Easter Bank Holiday Weekend just begged for a cycle day, and we even took the chance to extend this 80km loop round Stafford & Blithfield Reservoir to hit the magic 100km day goal! I only regret not getting you more photos!
We will be building up a cycle route section on our website over the course of the summer…why not book your stay, pack your bike, and explore them too!

I’ve been abysmally slow in posting up new and exciting things going on around us and it’s time I did!

Inn the Moors is currently occupied for the foreseeable future but we would like to tell you all about another very special place right on our doorstep! Introducing - The School House:

A historic home set at the heart of village life in nearby Cresswell, as the name suggests, this character home was once a place of learning for village children. Boasting three spacious bedrooms, one of which has its own en-suite, a classic dining room, two log fires, and a well appointed kitchen it has everything it needs to offer large families a peaceful and private refuge.

The generous garden is fully fenced and four-legged friends are welcome and safe and - for those needing a little more space for ball games the local cricket pitch is right next door!

This morning exploring Ilam Park, National Trust before the heat of the day settled in 😎 This stunning setting lies within a 30 minute drive of the flat and National Trust Members can enjoy free parking.
From the main house, it’s a jolly 3 mile stroll round to the Dovedale Stepping Stones and back, where you can extend your steps up to the top of Thorpe Cloud if you’re feeling perky. We are saving it for a slightly cooler day!
