Originally based in High Wycombe but now in Stokenchurch, we are a not-for-profit organisation that is run by volunteers. Our once permanent venue in High Wycombe has now been redeveloped and the club ceased operations for several years. However, a group of former members and committee members have worked to revive the club and begin a new chapter for this once thriving club. We race various class

es of radio-controlled car indoors on a specialist needle carpet surface - check out the ‘Classes’ section of our website for more info. WRCC is a member’s club, but anyone can visit, spectate, or take part as a non-member. RC model motorsport caters for people from all backgrounds, and we do not discriminate on age, s*x or disability. We are a BRCA (British Radio Car Association) affiliated club, and we request that anyone who races with us is a BRCA member as well (adult membership costs £25/year). Visit the BRCA Website for further information. The club boasts a variety of skill levels from beginner to advanced so everyone is welcome and there is always plenty of help on offer from our regulars. We recommend paying us a visit and talking to us before jumping in and investing in any equipment so we can help make sure you get suitable gear for your money. Events are run throughout the year by the club on weekday evenings and occasional weekends and we have several National Championship winning drivers to our credit. Most of our action is fed through Facebook – please visit and ‘Like’ our page to be kept updates about news and events! Check out www.wycomberacing.co.uk for more information. Race report – 29th October 2024

Sorry a bit late on this report and video upload. But just enough to whet the appetite for the next club meeting on the 12th.

A record entry greeted all attendees on the 29th with a very impressive 27 Minis and 6 LMP booked in.
This meant 4 heats of Minis and 1 heat of LMP. Giving a busy nights racing!
15 brushless Minis and 12 brushed all mixed together with separate points championships.

In the minis Alex Springer and Karl Dobbs were fighting over the pole position. Both drivers using the Battcave chassis with brushless power.
Karl hampered slightly by being in a lower heat seeding and Alex eventually won over to get pole position by around a second.

3rd place on the grid went to Paul Wedley with his brushless Mardave. 4th Steve Tunaley (Batt Cave), Anthony Williams (TWR) 5th, Richard Dalby (Batt Cave) 6th and Peter Williams (TWR) 7th.
All cars in the top 7 were brushless powered.

In LMP, Mark Stiles was not racing following the National weekend. This left the way open for William Lee to take a comfortable pole with his Roche.
Ian Masters for 2nd on the grid with his Roche and Charlie Dunne 3rd with his Awesomatix.

Onto the finals, first up the D final Mini. (Yes the first time we have had a D final!)
The D final was a hard fought race between Kevin and Aiden Williams. This time Kevin just winning out with Aiden 2nd. Andy Birch was 3rd on his debut race meeting.

The C final was a close race between Steve Brown, Keith Snell and Jamie Morris. In the end Keith Snell taking the victory from Jamie Morris 2nd and Steve 3rd.
Alistar Weston who was pole ended up behind these 3 in 4th.

The B final had some regular A-finalists in the mix. Frank Williams on pole took an early lead but was being chased hard by long-time WRCC racer Sam Dimelow. Sam’s first meeting with a mini.
These 2 cars were the quickest in the race but Sam met some misfortune and dropped down the order. In the end Frank took an easy win, Darryl Bonsor 2nd from 6th on the grid and Sam Snell 3rd. 4th went to Brian Seymour and Sam Dimelow ended up 5th.
Brian had the fastest brushed car in qualifying. Darryl and Sam also running brushed.

Onto the Mini A final. At the start a couple of mistakes by Alec Springer dropped him down the order leaving himself plenty to do,
This enabled Karl Dobbs a great opportunity to break away at the front.
Behind him Paul Wedley and Steve Tunaley were in pursuit.
At the end of the race Karl took a comfortable win, Paul Wedley 2nd and Alec Springer recovered in 3rd. Steve Tunaley 4th, Anthony Williams 5th, Richard Dalby 6th and Peter Williams 7th.

In the LMP12 final the race was somewhat scrappy. The exception to this was William Lee who took a comfortable win. Alex Watts drove a strong race to take 2nd with his Awesomatix and Ian 3rd with his Destiny.
Mike Watts 4th, Charlie Dunne and Mark Goodchild with issues in 5th and 6th.

Race report - 15th October 2024

Race report time and this time from our 25th October club meeting. For this one we had 19 Minis and 6 LMP booked in. It was also the first meeting of our 5 race short Winter championship.

Onto qualifying and in the Minis it was Anthony Williams (TWR) once again continuing his good form and taking pole position. Second went to Steve Tunaley (Battcave) taking a rest from LMP this week. 3rd went to Frank Williams (Battcave), 4th Alex Springer (Battcave), 5th Sam Snell (Mardave) and Brian Seymour 6th (Battcave).

In LMP it was Mark Stiles taking pole position with his Awesomatix. Rich Sodeau was 2nd and Alex Watts 3rd.

First up the Minis…

In the C final it was Lee Campbell taking the win. Lee having problems in qualifying. In the end it turned out to be a comfortable win from Carl Rowlinson 2nd and Aiden Williams 3rd.

The B final went to form with pole sitter Chris Snell taking the victory. 2nd went to Steve Brown with a great drive and Choco ended 3rd. Choco just pipping Kevin Williams in 4th.

The A final Minis went much the same as qualifying with Anthony Williams driving into the distance at the front of the field. The big mover was Alec Springer who drove a great race to get 2nd. Steve Tunaley ended up 3rd from Frank Williams 4th. Sam Snell took 5th and Brain Seymour 6th.

Finally the LMP were out on track with the B Final first. Mark Goodchild taking the win but only just from Roy Lam. Charlie Dunne finished 3rd.

In the A final Mark Stiles took a dominant win. Rich Sodeau just not having an answer this week to Mark’s pace. Alex Watts drove a great race to finish 3rd.

Thanks everyone. See you at the next one! :-)

A massive thankyou to everyone who came to our Test & Tune Day today. Especially to those who stopped behind and helped pack away at the end; without your help we simply couldn’t have run the event and got everything done in time at the end of the day.

It seems that everyone enjoyed themselves and we’ve already had people asking when we’ll be doing another one. To answer that, we hope to be able to do something in the coming months, perhaps in late December or January. Watch this space!

In order that we can continue to develop and improve the club, please let us know of any constructive feedback you would like to share. What was good? What could be better? Would you change anything?

17/10/2024

A provisional heat list for this weekends Test & Tune Day is available here;

http://www.rc-results.com/Viewer/Main/Listing?listingId=71160

A round will take about an hour so everyone will get about 7 runs during the day.

We’re about full for this now, could perhaps squeeze in another 3 or 4 minis and a couple of LMP12 but that’ll be it!

Please bring a table & chair with you and an extension lead/reel. There are some tables & chairs in the venue but not enough for everyone so it’s safest to bring your own.

Doors open 9am Saturday and we expect to start running at 10-ish; see you then!

Don’t forget we’re racing as normal on Tuesday 15th October. Get yourself booked in at your earliest convenience. 👍🏻

We also have our Test & Tune Day on Saturday 19th, all day. This will be in the sports hall so we can run an extra width of carpet and a touch longer with the track. We will also pit in the track hall so it doesn’t feel as disconnected. Register and pay as you would for a normal club meeting (half day entry also available).

Race report for 1st October 2024. Sorry a bit late, very busy weekend!

Wycombe met again for our popular circuit club series on the 1st of October. This meeting was the finale of our 6 round mini-Summer series. All championships still up for grabs and all to race for!

The entry was very strong again with 18 Minis and 9 LMP.

In the Mini qualifying Anthony Williams (TWR) pipped Patrick Bayton-Glene (TWR) to pole position by 2 seconds. Both these drivers hit a strong 32 lap score. John Bayton-Glene (Mardave) was 3rd back on 31 laps. Frank Williams was in 4th, Lee Campbell 5th both running Batcave cars. Keith Snell an excellent 6th with his Mardave and taking the honour of top brushed powered car.

In the LMP it was Mark Stiles returning strongly and taking pole with 62 laps with the Awesomatix A12X. Mark Goodchild 2nd on 60 laps back running the Destiny. 3rd went to William Lee with his Roche also on 60 laps.

So to the finals, first up was the C final Minis. Aiden Williams drove a very strong race to win the C Final on 23 laps, around 11 seconds faster than Louis Birch in 2nd. Louis has been improving rapidly in recent weeks! 3rd place went to Mike Clark a further lap down.

Onto the B final and this was a super close race between Chris and Sam Snell. Both drivers tracked each other closely the entire race. In the end Chris took the win around 4 seconds ahead of Sam. Steve Brown took 3rd around a lap further back.

Onto the A final and it was a good start from Anthony Williams who managed to get away from Patrick on lap 1. Anthony and Patrick the class of the field with best laps of 9.04 and 9.01 respectively. Anthony drove a good race and took the win from Patrick around a lap behind. John Bayton-Glene 3rd, Frank Williams 4th, Lee Campbell 5th and Keith Snell 6th.

In the LMP B Final it was Roy Lam in pole position followed by Charlie Dunne, Mike Watts and Alex Watts. Alex did not start the final having had tyre problems all night. In the end Roy took the win in the final from Charlie second and Mike 3rd. Although Charlie had the best lap of 7.62 seconds.

In the LMP A Final Mark Stiles took a flawless victory with a fast 64 lap score. William Lee 2nd and Mark Goodchild 3rd. Mark made early mistakes and William took good advantage to get away. Steve Tunaley unfortunately stripped a spur gear and did not finish.

Onto the championships. In the inaugural Brushless Mini championship it was John Bayton-Glene taking the victory on 396 points from Peter Williams on 391 and Lee Campbell on 390.

In the Brushed Minis it was Keith Snell taking the honours with 393 points, Steve Brown was second on 388 and Aiden Williams 3rd on 379.

In the LMP class, Mark Stiles took the overall victory with a maximum 400 points. Mark Goodchild 2nd on 394 and Steve Tunaley 3rd on 389 points.

Race report - 17th September 2024

This meeting saw our highest ever (I think) entry of Minis with 20 booked in. Fewer LMP with just 3. However we expect this to bounce back at our next meeting with Mark Stiles returning among others.

As ever the Mini Brushed and Brushless cars were mixed heats but with separate points. 9 brushless cars and 11 Brushed.

In the Mini Qualifying, it was Mr Battcave Shaun Batt taking pole position with 30 laps. Next up the TWR cars of Patrick Bayton-Glen (29 laps) and Anthony Williams (fast 28 laps). 4th went to Paul Wedley with his Brushed Mardave car. 5th Peter Williams (TWR), 6th John Baynton-Glen (Mardave) and 7th Frank Williams (Mardave).

For LMP Mark Goodchild took the fastest time with his on-loan Awesomatix A12. Steve Tunaley 2nd with another Awesomatix and Choco 3rd with the Xray.

The C Final was dominated by Sam Snell. Sam leading from the start but chased by Scott Cave. Early on Luke Bird moved into 3rd place. Sam was really flying in this race with a best lap of 11.01. Well over a second faster than anyone else in the race. This was how it would end with the win going to Sam, 2nd Scott and 3rd Luke.

Onto the B Final and it was Luke Campbell (brushless) on pole who was unlucky to miss out on the A final this time. Luke got a good start in a very clean B Final start and soon pulled a couple seconds ahead of Chris Snell and Keith Snell. Chris and Keith both with brushed power cars. This was how it would end with Lee taking the win by around 4 seconds from Chris and Keith a further 4 seconds back in 3rd. Steve Brown ended up 4th and Alistar Weston 5th. Alistar talking the fastest lap of the race with a 10.49.

Finally the big guns were out in the Mini A Final. The first lap was clean but onto lap 2 contact between Shaun and Patrick mixed the race up. This left Anthony Williams out front from Peter Williams and Frank Williams in 3rd. Frank the big winner up from 7th place.

Shaun and Patrick however were recovering fast with Shaun just ahead at this stage. Unfortunately for Anthony a mistake through the sweeper cost him the lead and let Shaun and Patrick back into 1st and 2nd. Then a mistake from Shaun just near the loop let Patrick into the lead.

This would be how it would finish Patrick taking the win from Shaun by around 1 second. 3rd went to Anthony Williams, Paul Wedley and excellent 4th and top brushed car. Frank ended 5th, John Baynton-Glen 6th and Peter Williams 7th.

For the LMP A final, Mark made a good start and took a quick lead. Steve Tunaley applying plenty of pressure at the start. Eventually the race settled with Mark pulling a comfortable lead from Steve with Choco in 3rd.
